PSG beat Barcelona 4-0 that is the reality of the task we faced last night and unless DD sells his shares to an Arab who is prepared to spend silly amounts of cash on world class players then this is the way it's going to be. Once in a blue moon we are able to compete against the best when we have 11 players playing out of their skins and the opposition has an off night. Sadly from the minute the ref blew his whistle we looked terrified scared to go forward uncase we left gaps at the back. That is the sad reality of where we are at this level. Players who look like superstars against the likes of Rangers and Hearts are no match for teams that cost near £700m to assemble. As great as it is being a well run club who buys cheap and sells for profit it works in the SPL but not at a higher level. We are a decent team but we are on a level with the likes of Ajax etc former giants now in the second tier of Europes elite. I'm not going to criticize the club the manager or the players we are where we are due to other leagues massive tv deals and foreign owners pumping in hidious amounts of cash it's always the way it's going to be if we continue to play in Scotland against dire opposition and clubs with no ambition. We have outgrown Scottish football yet we find ourselves stiffled and unable to get to the next level because of where we are. So what do we do we win the league each year and grab the £30m on offer and use it to dominate each year at home or as i said DD sells up and we run the club like most in Europe now and that is find someone who is willing to throw insane amounts at the club, something i don't think anyone would be prepared to do whilst we play in Scotland so realistically the only option we have is to do what we are doing now, accept we are big fish in a small pond domestically but small fish in a big pond when it comes to the CL and that is the harsh realities of a club our size playing in Scotland. Hope the creamola foam filled child who ran onto the pitch receives a life ban anyone who wears jeans that are tighter than a womans deserves it.

100% Stan. Couldn't agree more wae that especially the lad that ran on the pitch. Never seen it cos a wasn't there but there's a difference between invading the pitch in euphoria and going on to attack opposition players.

only thing I disagree with is that you think we are in the "second tier" - we are so much further down than that.

we could have been overturned by Astana, Happy Beer Shandies, teams of that level. 4th or 5th level I recon.

Sinclair was asked to more or less defend at left back more than he went forward - he doesn't do that 99% of the season - so why would he be able to do that - and well - against PSG. Catch 22 if we had played an extra defensive minded player instead of him (if we had one) - we couldn't have sneaked a win (which was what we all hoped) .

onward and upward, Anderleict here we come.

I think the fans will turn more if we don't use the next window to spend some of that 60m.

Digibanger could spend all £60mill but that won't make any difference against teams who are spending £100/ 150/ 250million. Its not just one team. Man City spent £230mill. PSG spent £190mill on Neymar and agreed a further £166mill on mbape. The entire squad would cost £1billion si where dies £60mill get us?

no wasn't meaning spend the 60mil to compete with PSG and the likes - that's just simply impossible.

Just spend some money to consolidate getting thru the groups.

Its not inconceivable with a mishap or 2 that we could have missed out on CL last year and this year - and if we don't strengthen we could miss out next year.

League is wrapped up, getting in the CL is the primary goal, secondary goal is in EU after Christmas, that's our path of progression. anything less would be a step in the wrong direction.
