For the game on Wednesday what would everyone prefer to keep playing like we do at home in the league or a more defensive approach hope to catch them on the counter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gordo-I think the teams confidence understandably took a fair bit of a doing after the Barcelona game because of the heaviness of the defeat and we can't afford that to hapoen again. So for me on wednesday I'd shut up shop to avoid a pummelling and try hit them on the break. We've got the pace to attempt it (Sinclair, Roberts, Forrest, Griffiths, Dembelke) the (big) question for me is do we have what it takes defensively and can Brendan set up a team to sit in?

Defending went well against barca.

Id play our own game, the only way we can stop them scoring is if we have the ball - our defenders/ dms need to be focused and fast when they have the ball.

its a great team, aguero and debryner are the key guys for me - if, if we can keep them quiet we have a chance.

I think its suicide to sit back against these guys.

I would make us narrow defensively and make them go wide as they don't really have an aerial threat and try and hit them on the break with our pace.

on bbc site:
Manchester City attacking midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, 25, is set to miss Wednesday's Champions League trip to Celtic after limping out of Saturday's 3-1 win at Swansea. (Sun on Sunday) 

was joking about this earlier - just aguero now!

Defending isn't our strong point so I'm not sure that trying to be defensive should be our game plan.
I think that whichever system we employ against them, the most important thing is that we don't give the ball away cheaply, these type of teams really punish you if you are careless with the ball. If we can make them work for their chances, they will start to get a bit frustrated, and then we can hope that our forwards can trouble them at the other end.
A high percentage of the goals we have conceded in Europe in the last few seasons seem to me to be down to individual errors, no matter what system we employ, we're not giving ourselves a chance, teams like Malmo, Molde, and Maribor, have made us suffer because of sloppy play, so it's only going to be worse if we make these mistakes against teams like Barcelona and Man City.
Brendan Rodgers has done far better than I thought he would as Celtic manager, I hope that he can do something about this area of our game, if he could, then teams wouldn't relish playing us as we have the players that can cause problems at the other end of the pitch.

Nailed it Gerry. BR has certainly said several times we need to be better on the ball.
