Lads this is well off topic but does anyone know anywhere good to take ma son fishing in central belt? We stay in Blantyre n don't want to travel more than an hour. Preferably a fishery with good access for wheelchair users. Sorry it's nothing to do with celtic but a thought one of u might have some ideas. Cheers.

Cheers Marco a want him to catch something big for a change we've been to magiscroft a couple of times n he loves it but he only ever catches tiny roach. Ad like him to feel what it's like to get a decent size trout maybe.

It's a great time of year to go to the sea as mackerel will be about and are a really easy catch. The cheapest of setups will do, just some feathers, swivels and weights. If your in the middle I'd suggest the east coast as the waters seem to be a bit healthier. Not all inland stocked fisheries allow bait and some are fly only so it's worth checking that. Good news if you pick up light spinning rods you can use them for both sea and bait fishing inland. Best option is to pick a peir as you will get into deep water and wheelchair access won't be a problem. another thing to look at is tide times. Search it and there are a few sites if you enter the location it will telly you when high tide is so you can plan your day. Early evening is also good for mackerel because they come closer to shore but you should be OK as long as the tide is in. Good luck and I hope you catch loads bud!

Some good ideas for next time. Blanked in Coatbridge. Nothin new for me, had a good laugh wae the bhoy rite enough it was good to get out without his mum or sisters there, wee bit of male bonding. Al have a better plan next time. Cheers for the info lads. Good to see sinclair deal done and the current buns crashing back down to earth. Back to the brig the nite to see a couple of bands, good Saturday so far.
