Is it just me or does anyone else agree browns time is coming to an end with us, can't fault the boys commitment but again today he was largely anonymous and picked up a stupid booking with his daft kick after he fouled the boy he's had a poor season also.

Agree9 Disagree0

Totally agree bud! He was terrible today. I've never been a massive fan of brown if I'm going to be honest. his passing for a professional footballer, never mind being Celtic and Scotland captain is shocking! Simple 5 or 10 yard passes constantly going to the opposition or out the park, and he's constantly caught out of position leading to him giving away fouls all over the place! I know people will come on and defend him and that's there right. but if u watch a game closely, you will see how many times he gives away possession! It's actually scary how many times he does it! When I think of all the centre midfielders we've had, he wouldn't even get in the top 15!

I like many others like the boy but feel when he's in the team he's holding back others namely armstrong, rogic i know its down to rd to sort it out so i would think a lot more off him if he were to be strong enough and drop brown to bench.

Was going to post earlier after the game . Brown looked like a man who knows he's at the end of career when he handed his jersey to crowd. beav how many in the last 20 year would get Into top 15.

I have to agree with you guys. He seems to be getting pushed around out there. In my opinion, it was his physical presence in midfield that made him integral to the team. I haven't seen that from him in a while. Who do you all think would replace him in his role? Should Armstrong be given a chance to play centrally? Scott Allan? Hail hail!

12 Mar 2016 17:47:04
I think long term it could be Armstongs best position! He's got a little bit of everything. Ronny never played him once there, he's been on the left or behind the striker! He's never a wide left player and don't think he's a no 10 either! He doesn't score enough to play there, I think his energy is more suited to play deeper. I think long term you could play Armstong and Henderson as the 2.

DRB just feel he's struggled for a while. I've had this discussion with a few mates in the past, and some of there thoughts were he drives the team forward and gets in people's faces! Which for me isn't the 1st 2nd or 3rd quality i look for in a footballer! But he doesn't even do that now! Granted he's Been out injured but I just feel he's like a man short! And my 15 are mcstay, burns, Macleod, grant, Collins, lambert, Lennon, petrov, Ledley, wanyama, ki, kayal, bitton, Hartley, robson! The last 2 if u remember came in and played well together to win us the league when brown was out! All much better football players than brown IMO.

Brown has always been an angry man in a football strip, he has contributed to most of his own injuries and suspensions through his own stupidity. Think about it, if he was any good he would have been sold years ago, given our recent financial strategy .

12 Mar 2016 19:15:02
Got to disagree folks get SB 100% fit and he is fab

Not been 100% in RDs tenure IMO even when he limped out right @ the start of RD

RD always brings him back to early because of impact he makes and that was acknowledged in commentary

He be needed in the run in more than most!

I think it's just age.

Much like a Striker who's main asset is their pace, when they age and start to lose that, they aren't nearly as effective.

Brown has never been the best passer, the most creative etc etc but he's been the drive and energy behind our best teams/ performances of the last 5/ 6 years.

Injuries and age have caught up and, it seems, like his engine/ energy aren't what they used to be. Without that, he is limited in his effectiveness.

Hopefully it's a fitness thing but it's more than likely a combination of age and injuries - and if so, it's only going to get worse.

Chasaboy so basically your saying that because he wasnt sold he is in your eyes $hite? Rofl.

12 Mar 2016 21:01:37
DN. Never thought he is as good as some folk seem to think. But if he was that good someone would have been interested and the way our club operate he would have been sold. My main point is that he has never been able to control his anger mainly to his detriment.

12 Mar 2016 22:35:50
Chasaboy he is in his 30s now. Natural decline stage in majority of footballers, so obviously not as good as previous seasons. He has never been a fancy player, just simple football and that's what he was good at.

I have came full circle on Brown for the second time. I thought he was a good player when at Hibs but was poor when he came to us. Then since Lennon took charge he had gradually got better, with last season being his finest as a Celtic player. However, this season he has become poor again, not sure what is going on with him.

To say that Brown's career at Celtic is coming to an end is an example of the terrible sick minds that follow Celtic . I am sure S Brown himself, would be the first to admit his form since returning from injury has not been good . Surely a player who has been one of our best seven seasons out of eight since he joined us, is entitled like almost every other player to have a dip in form . Some of us are so demanding that we will chase all the middling players out of the club . Wise up footballers are humans, not machines, they are entitled to spells when they are off form.
