Reading Browns comments in the papers this mornin about tony Mowbray! Think it's bang out of order coming out with what he has! I understand there was problems with the 2 of them but it's really poor for me! Granted big tony didn't work out as a manager,we all know that! But for the Celtic captain to come out and have a go and actually use the name of an ex player who like I said didn't work out as manager but still talks fondly about our club and his time there! Think he should concentrate on his own problems rather than have a go at former managers!

I don't think he was really having a go. He was simply putting what's happening now into perspective.

Well the Celtic captain has also stated we're not in a crisis. So that must be good. Kind of get where you're coming from with regards to what he's saying publically but personally it doesn't offend me at all.

I agree big time mate, - I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that. Guys like McGrain/Aitken/McNeil would never have said even remotely along those lines. Brown does lack class, and up until last year I always gave him the benefit of the doubt because I thought he was playing well, and the team was far better with him in it, I even thought we would have done much better in the qualifiers last year if he was fit, but he played this year and was appalling. On top of all that Mowbray helped bring him through at Hibs, along with Thompson/Fletcher, before John Collins took over and they all got big moves, but Mowbray was the one that did the most for their careers. He's obviously bitching about him now because Mowbray dropped him from the Celtic team, because he was rotten, he took a few years to settle in, I didn't think he wanted to be here, I thought he regretted coming to Celtic. I didn't think he felt comfortable, and there was initially no rapport with the fans. Anyway instead of taking it on the chin, and trying to get back in the team, he, along with a few others chucked it and big Tony got sacked. I even remember Peter Grant saying he was surprised at how average Brown was technically and had went backwards since he moved from Hibs. Mowbray was a gentleman though, I simply think the pressure was too much, and I don't think the fact he was iconic as a player helped him, I think it might have made him think that he even has to go one better. I remember clearly though players moaning about him stopping training and giving them pointers, talking about their mistakes, he was basically being thorough, - the very thing everyone is foaming at the mouth about when it comes to that Mark Warburton. Warburton is being very progressive and revolutionary, while Mowbray and Ronny are being too picky, too strict. It makes my blood boil, and we have the usual suspects doing the same thing as we speak, Stokes, Commons etc, - if they were good enough our manager would play them, he wants results like the rest of us! It is beyond me how any fan can stick up for these players. I know Ronny is a little naive, and his subs at Aberdeen amazed me also, playing Ambrose amazes me. Apart from that though he is trying to run the club the way other top successful clubs do, and as I said the way they're trying to over in Govan, 20 years too late for them right enough, but they're still getting all the praise, with everyone buying into Warbos great incredible fantastic amazing methods. The players better put on a show tonight, for the manager, and more importantly the fans.

Just thought it's something that shouldn't be Said in public that's all! It's was nothing but a cheap shot at a guy that despite it not working being manager that I and a lot of Celtic fan hold in high regard! Tony Mowbray is nothing but complimentary about his time with us and how high he still regards us as a football club! It was out of order for me! And if he puts in a performance tonite like he's done since the season started then he'll just have made him self look even dafter than he already has! If your going to have a dig at a former manager then make sure it's when u and the team aren't a shambles pal!

Think the phrase "lacking in class" covers it. Going by our clubs transfer policy, if Brown was as good as he thinks, he would have sold by now, nuff said. I do think Brown adds to the team, but that could be indicator of far we have fallen because he certainly ain't,t no superstar His silly angry/hardman act has cost him too many unnecessary cautions and quite a few injuries through stupid tackles. IT IS ABOUT TIME ALL THESE PLAYERS DID SOME TALKING ON THE PITCH!!!

Lets rememberwhere we got this information. the newspapers.
We all know how they put their slant on anything said.
No aologies here but the media are Bast@ds. I have dealt with them as a Health and Safety Manager when there was an issue involving loss of life and they actually called up relatives for a reaction.
Anyway, regardless, Brown (imo) was stating an obviou fact in that compared to having a team which has had relative success here at home and what big Tony was putting together. this is not a crisis.
I am, like all of us concerned in what is happening but I don't fully blame RD I do however, throw a lot of blame at the Board (PL in particular) WGS and Lennon left because it was obvious that they would not be able to take the club any further with the selling of our best players and limited replacement funds. RD was chucked in because first choices were reluctant to follow that same phylosophy. He is keen and passionate but I was not convinced he was up to this job. I have warmed to him over time but still have nagging doubts.

People have short memories of the dross we played under Mowbary. The same people probably shouting for Mowbary to be sacked now defending him becasue Brown speaks out of turn Grant commenting on Browns technical abilities do me a favour do you remeber Grant playing. While it may not be PC to speak abot previous managers I think he is just trying to back RD circle the wagons and defend Celtic in this time where we are getting in the neck from not only our own fans but the MSM.As noted in a lot of posts everyone is entitled to their opinion so Brown isn't allowed to say anything. Move on get over it there's footbal to watch and get behind the team.Hopefully some positives on here tomorrow

I think Scot Bdown thought he was making a joke and a laugh would help to give every one a lift . Maybe it has back fired .

What has Peter Grants ability got to do with anything. He at least had a bit of dignity while at Celtic, gave everything every game, and loved the club. Technically he was very average Also, but he was the assistant manager under Mowbray so is entitled to an opinion, especially if Brown wasn't man enough to accept being dropped. He did the same thing under John Collins at Hibs, freaking out because they had to do double sessions, - God help us all. It tells you about his character. That was my point. He could easily have said we are all behind Ronny, there is no problems in the dressing room, the rumours are absolute nonsense Eric etc. instead he mentions Mowbray and says it's not as bad as then - you don't have to be a psychologist to know that there is something going on behind the scenes, it's just not as bad as it was back then. That's just great then, thanks Scott I'm reassured now. He's the captain, it should all be internal, he should be acting like a proper man and making sure all these rumours aren't getting out! Perception is everything and it can kill you!

Brown's "joke" about big Tony may now be regarded as a master stroke , as it may have helped in no small way to lift the spirits within the team and get a good solid all round performance from the team .
