Just wondered your thoughts on it Ed (Cifti No. 7). Now a know your not big on the numbers issue , and we know you were underwhelmed by the direction and signing of Cifti.
But we have been discussing this for a LONG while back that whoever filled that particular jersey would be an indicator of the calibre/direction the club was going IMO simply because of the "weight/allure" of it!
I cannot believe we have waited 5 fkin years for what?? A BITER FFS!! Shocking IMO cannot believe it if am honest and a day we all better get use to the fact we are not now looking to source "rough diamonds" we are shopping in the "jumble sales / raggy dolls" department! Rant over
{Ed007's Note - You're right it isn't something that bothers me but I can understand why it matters to a lot of supporters and the club know it, they are quick to promote it when there's £ to be made.
Is Pedro anywhere near matching the realistic expectations of the support? We've bought the season tickets again and so far again he has let us down when it comes to investing in the team. Does anyone honestly believe that even if we qualify for the CL this coming season we will see a better calibre of player than Ciftci signed?
It's different signing a player like Johansen, even guys like Pukki, they're an unknown quantity so you wait and see how it goes, we've all seen Ciftci, we know what he can do so there's no mystery and from what I've seen he's nowhere near CFC class, even compared to the players we have.
Unless Ciftci massively improves he'll turn into another waste of money, and with his attitude and PVH's interference he could be a problematic waste of money. PVH is very hands on as his agent and he was never off the phone to Dundee Utd over petty stuff that Ciftci didn't like.}

For the first time ever am annoyed & perplexed @ a Celtic signing! He is going to miss a chunk of games due to suspension
Please tell me it is not just me but we have just bought an INDIVIDUAL who has bitten an opponent , how is this not getting highlighted?
Ciftci ain't that good and wound up like a clock! As for the number 7 it just baffles me big time never mind the disappointment
As for PL , again I think you are trying to say we are being "short changed" for want of a better explanative. Somebody better equipped than me needs to start getting some straight answers as to what our spending barometer is a remember Strachan saying you get 5 million a year to spend at Celtic , but seems have slipped since then badly!

No ed your right we get the money will be spent carrot put in front of us fans if we qualify for the CL every year but it never happens! Let's hope RD can make us CL ready on a shoe string budget!

ED007 I posted something similar yesterday about big Pierre he was always causing problems at most clubs he was at and now as an agent I expect him to be a sh!t stirrer as well. But my main point is about Lawwell, is he working in Celtic's best interests or his own. So to be fair to him, let us look at the pros and cons. On the pro side he is a great administrator and also good at negotiating deals and contracts (look at the money we have coined from selling on players like Ki, Wannyama, Forster etc etc. ), He has helped Celtic more than balance the books and has the club better off financially under his stewardship. Now for the cons, it looks like he is "working his ticket" at Celtic (ie using our club to further his own career with the SFA and ultimately with UEFA or FIFA) He penny pinches when it suits him, then spends money unwisely (ie Balde, Pukki etc etc. ) He gets involved in player selection which should be solely the scouting network or the manager's job. He claims to have the club and us the Celtic fans best interests at heart, but does he? In my eyes no. So my question to yourself ED007 and everyone has Lawwell gone past his "sell by date" should we the fans ask for LAWWELL to resign?
{Ed007's Note - I said a few years back on here that I thought Pedro had an eye on a UEFA/FIFA job and I still think that's the case but I think he ideally would still want to be connected to CFC. How many times has he failed to strengthen from our position of power, remember Fetcher from Hibs in 2009? Year on year he gambles with European qualification while deliberately misleading the supports with promises of £8million signings, only a year past in February:

I don't kno if i'd b comfortable going into the play off round with what we have, and as we have all witnessed over the years the caliber of player has got worse and with the addition of more quali rounds i'm a good bit nervous about it all just hoping we r not about to b found out as a europa league team we r so much bigger than that but let's all have faith (said with a hint of sarcasm) we can do it hail hail

In my opinion there is no way we will qualify for the CL I think we should be able to get past this round and maybe and it's a big maybe the next but the round after that , NO CHANCE not with the squad we have just now

It let's us see how they are thinking because of the commercial value of that jersey , having given it away that easy so you honestly think they are now shopping for someone better? you are probably big enough to answer that yourself
Imagine this guy had bitten someone in the Glasgow derby instead of the Dundee one, How mortified would you be connected to it!?
Honestly a cannot get my head round am in a MINORITY here! what about Ched Evans just in case Ciftci gets injured? just saying like!

Not going to come on here and have a go at our new signing,he'll get my support now he's in the hoops! Just can't hide my disappointment at yet another bargain basement striker being bought! And if our strike force stays how it is rite now then I'm not confident in the slightest about making the CL! We'll have enough for the first 2 rounds but the playoff is another matter! Hope I'm wrong but,really do! Just want to know what Lawell says if we don't make the group stages! Although I think I know the answer to that! The fans need for CL football and seeing sum players with proven pedigree on the pitch are coming a distant 2nd to his need and obsession with a healthy bank balance! And it's RD who will get the brunt of it if we fail yet again in Europe! That's the frustrating thing!

What a bunch of moaners we have on here. I'll stick my neck out and say we will qualify for the champions league group stages. RD is no mug in fact I rate him big time, he will without doubt turn Celtic into a fine attacking team that will regularly mix it with the real big clubs. all you doubting Thomas's! Hail Hail
