Now I like Ciftci as a player, whether or not he can step up is another question, but giving him the number 7 shirt. Is this a joke?

I agree it is a fkin joke! don't give me it is just a number pI$#! If that was the case they would have filled it over the last 5 years!

Total JOKE and to say am underwhelmed is not even enough!

Give the bhoy a chance before you assume he isn't worthy

I don't think ciftci is a great signing but it doesn't make any difference what number he gets, far to many people are over sensitive when it comes to the no.7 jersey. The only thing that does worry me is that by being given the number it may look like he's going to be a first choice this season. I would prefer better quality striker and have ciftci as back up.

I would imagine a lot of people as there's history to it.

It's pure coincidence that Henke and Jinky wore number 7. Dalglish was class too, and Keane for a season. But there have been just as many gash no.7s than great no.7s, if not more! If anything it should be the number to signify an average player! The only people putting a spin on it are CFC. Our last hoops kit was a dedication to number 7 apparently FFS. If it does mean so much then why on earth is Nadir Ciftci walking in and getting it!? Would have made more sense to give Broony the number long before now.
