Any word on Jota Ed? Stories he was due back Jan but not seen him training with group and MON only mentioned AJ as potentially back in March. Getting him back and fit for the run in would be great.
{Ed007's Note - I think it was a bit wishful thinking with the January timescale mate.}

Wasn't that just the injury / recuperating timeline? He'd then have to do a preseason of sorts . rather slow progress and back and fully recovered / fit than rushing him back.
07 Jan 2026 19:18:50
If Jota is back before March I will be surprised.

Just watched the latest training session from Lennoxtown, looks a wee bit hill billy under the Campsies, keeps 'em zipping about.

I think what would be ideal is a Garry Hooper type striker.
I said ages ago Calum Osmand gave me that vibe when we first signed him and it's unfortunate he's injured. Have huge hopes for him.
Wonder if there's anyone poking about League 1/ Championship that could come in for a relatively low fee and do a turn for us!

Plenty of gems out there, we just need to have the personnel who can identify them.
07 Jan 2026 16:32:34
Kyogo is that man. Loved that wee dude.
07 Jan 2026 17:20:52
Jorgen Strand Larsen - Norwegian currently at Wolves (25 years old)
Don't think we could afford him though - £30 to £40M + salary
Could have got him for around £10M 3 years ago.
07 Jan 2026 18:09:23
Apparently they knocked back £55m in summer from Newcastle?
07 Jan 2026 20:22:55
Kyogo is howling and will likely never hit form again. Was an over rate player in my opinion. Great for 18 months. Nothing on Hooper, Griff, McDonald, Dembele, Edouard, Hartson, Sutton, Larsson, Sinclair. Could go on.
I tell you what I'd do for another Scott Sinclair at the club. What a player he was for us. Bit of a hero in my eyes.
07 Jan 2026 20:43:56
Gary would be better right now that what we have m. Even at 38 he would have buried those sitters. I would have put away at least 8, hauf cut.

Would callum Wilson be a shout decent finisher just his fitness might be an issue.

He will be 34 next month which is 4.5 years older than Iheanacho.
Celtic should bring back Giakoumakis because he was brilliant with his one touch finishes.
07 Jan 2026 11:52:27
Hope Martin throws the Mexican lad in at rb on sat Tony's been rank and sinasola deserves a shout with scales coming back as well.

Araujo reminds me of Agathe. No quite as fast mind you!
07 Jan 2026 16:25:11
Tony been poor at rcb but usually reliable at rb as has been Donovan.
07 Jan 2026 15:18:46
Donovan should be starting at right back hese the hottest thing to come out our youth set up in years. Hese showed hese got what it takes and looks promising we should be giving him game time and the chance to be our first choice right back. Not some guy whose here for a few month and not played all season.
07 Jan 2026 18:40:01
Mally, I agree, I would throw him in or Donovan as AR is just not at the standard we need.
Problem for the Mexican, MON said he wasn't sure how fit he is as he hasn't played for a long time, so hoping that doesn't mean AR starting.
07 Jan 2026 18:50:34
I'd genuinley say that Ralston's days at Celtic are numbered. He's a player who always gives 100% but that alone is not enough.
The RCB nonesense aside under Nancy, Ralston was previously back up to AJ and now I think Donovan has claimed that spot.
If he wants to play football and get serious minutes he'll need to likely move.

The shortcomings and major mistakes of our Board have been well documented; so too the error in judgement of WN's appointment and disastrous tenure. Today I really hope the players take a look at the league table and feel the shame and guilt of a group that - barring a few - have been absolutely atrocious for large parts of the season.
Maybe unfair to single out individuals, but I will start at our 'goalkeeper' and you can easily work out the rest. Changes to this underwhelming squad will hopefully be made in the coming days but make no mistake about the huge task ahead thanks to a cocktail of cock-ups right through Celtic.

It looks like the 2, 1 we have signed already on loan from Bournemouth, and TaBi were not identified by our scouting or recruitment team, they were offered to us and about every team in Europe, including sevco, at our level, teams like Brugge.
So if those teams saw nothing in them, why did we.
{Ed007's Note - I read that earlier and it's absolute nonsense, we had been watching Julian Araujo since he was at Barca and Mark Lawwell tried to bring him in when he went to Las Palmas on loan - maybe his agent got in touch to see if we still were with AJ's long term injury?
Even at that, it's perfectly normal for agents to call up scouts/DOFs etc to see if they are interested in their players so I don't see the big deal apart from trying to $hit stir and trying to besmirch the players as not good enough.
We were also probably offered most of the dross that have rocked up at Ibrox under the same circumstances.}
07 Jan 2026 12:00:09
There is only one person to blame for the position we are in domestically and we all know who that Frenchman is.
We have easily the best squad of players in the league, easily good enough domestically and if he wasn't appointed I am confident this same squad of players would have had a trophy in the cabinet and be sitting top of the league.
Yes we need to strengthen a good few positions, but the predicament we're in is down to one man and his ludicrous team set up.
07 Jan 2026 12:51:27
I'm not convinced we have the best team in the league. But I think Martin could have them punching above their weight.
07 Jan 2026 13:25:44
I'd say that on their respective games, we've got the best group of players in the league.
One of the most glaring issues is how far our level, individually and collectively, has regressed back towards the 'chasing pack'.
The Celtic family silver has all but gone, sold off to the highest bidder and replaced with a poorer standard of player.
07 Jan 2026 16:01:17
Well said Stevie 100% spot on.
07 Jan 2026 15:08:13
Hertz and the Rangers are terrible and I'd imagine whoever wins the league this year it will be a record low points total. If either of the two of them don't win it this season, they never will in the foreseeable future.
07 Jan 2026 15:09:22
Cheers Ed. Aware agents do that, just hoping that they chose us and have not been turned down by clubs because they are dross and are a cheap option. You know our CEO.
Ta Bi looks decent but a little green (no pun intended) but that is based on videos I have looked at which is no real indicator.
07 Jan 2026 19:20:58
Ange wanted him.
07 Jan 2026 11:13:13
The Celtic fans collective have asked for a meeting a really hope this happens and we get some clarity and can move on from this mess, we need unity and give martin and the boys the best chance possible of winning this league it ain't beyond us.

Hopefully now the dust is starting to settle a bit regarding the footballing side of things and from what I take from MON presser ( sorry Ed just had to ) looks like SM is identifying players with a striker the main priority imo so who do you think our new striker could be?

Looks like it was MN that pushed DD to sack WN.
It was him that chose him in the first place, so he doesn't get a pat on the back for identifying and sorting the mess caused by him.
07 Jan 2026 13:27:00
Reading between the lines I think Brian Wilson may have contributed to Nancy going.
07 Jan 2026 14:42:35
For sure Pedro… he didn't want him in the first place. Soon as he's appointed Chair… the game was up for WN.

Nick Walsh is our referee on Saturday against Dundee Utd.
Baby Dallas will be doing VAR.
Sevco will be delighted that David Dickinson will be their referee away to Aberdeen and John Beaton will be doing VAR.
Both of them are good friends away from football.
I wonder what common interests they both have.
Dickinson has helped Sevco out in his last 2 games involving the latest Ibrox club.
He awarded Sevco a penalty to equalise in the 98th minute away to Dundee Utd.
Dickinson then denied Motherwell an injury time penalty at Ibrox to prevent them from getting an equaliser.
The Ibrox incident was arguably more of a penalty than the Tannadice incident.

All the while, in their Ivory Towers at Parkhead, the Celtic BoD sit twiddling their thumbs hoping it doesn't impact the final league result.
Well either that, or they are hoping for a Sevco triumph this season? Everything we have seen in the last 12 months could lead us to believe that!
07 Jan 2026 11:07:43
Obviously we are responsible for our own flaws and failings this season and Bhoy, were they massive mistakes. However, all the while Sevco were below us they gladly accepted multiple referee and VAR helping hands along the way and trust me, it will continue.

The Celtic fans Collective have sent a letter to Brian Wilson. Here are a list of what they are seeking from the board:
"Celtic Football Club's footballing strategy must be modernised and communicated with clarity and regularity to its supporters. Additionally, professional recruitment processes need to be deployed with a commitment to making merit-based appointments to key strategic roles. No longer can jobs be filled through the patronage of personal relationships or family ties.
"There must be a commitment to accountability and transparency. We believe the Club requires a genuine reset in executive leadership, and that Executive Directors Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay should step aside to enable that reset, given their stated responsibility for the appointments of Paul Tisdale and Wilfried Nancy, and for the growing fan disconnect under their leadership. Unity cannot simply be requested but rather must be rebuilt through credible actions that demonstrate the Club learns from mistakes and changes course when required.
"The club should reinstate the Green Brigade, revoke the fan media ban and engage proactively with supporter organisations and independent supporters to rebuild trust, with the medium-term aim of instituting a democratically elected Fan Advisory Board, and developing improved communications and an enhanced matchday experience for the Celtic support.

We will soon find out if our interim Chairman is all mouth and no action because he has mentioned Unity.

It would appear DD is keen to cling onto MN as his head honcho at the club, with today's ) manufactured) news that MN was the driving force behind WN's sacking!
Desperate stuff and they really take us for mugs. However, Celtic fans have longer memories than elephants!
