Celtic have held talks with 20 year old American winger Cole Campbell from borussia dortmund he’s been told he isn’t in the managers plans and to look for game time elsewhere he was on loan at hoffenheim last season they chose not to activate his 7.5 million euro release clause.

Reading about this lad. He's made 5 appearances for Dortmund in 2vyesrs and in his loan spell made 5 appearances.
He has 2 senior goals for Dortmund B team.
Not exactly great figures.

The Americans and Canadians in build up to this World Cup made great connections to Europe that saw there best talent developed here, if Celtic can tap into that I’m all for it, wether he’s good enough none of us will really know, the release clause was prob too high so if we can get him for fraction of that might be good business.
Watching just score a couple at World Cup can’t help thinking that’s where some of our answers lie. but is he physical enough for a mon team that I think this year he may want to.

Hoffenmeim never triggered £6.8 mill release clause. he's obviously not anywhere near starting 11 ready so the biscuit tinners won't be paying 6.8 mill. probably a loan that will never play and mire wages out the door. give that board more bonuses.

As we all expected, nothing learned from or improved upon in our so-called Recruitment Dept from the past. MON winning the double last season has given them a free pass to continued incompetence and amateurish antics in the transfer market.

Wait a minute so are we writing a 20 year old off that’s played for 2 of the strongest clubs in Europe the passed couple of seasons?
Never seen Calum Osmand get many minutes for first team and he seems to be the messiah?

No one has written him off and he’s not played for Dortmund, just the U19s and what 5 sub appearances for Hoffenheim.
He’s certainly untested and is a risk. Scottish league though is more physical and defensive so it might be a big ask of him to become a first team ready player due to lack of game time.

To be fair, Patrick Roberts was untried, he done OK.
Mickey Moore for Rangers was untried and he done OK.
So you never know this boy may turn out to be a rough diamond if indeed he was signed.

It will be all cheap options who haven't performed where they are. If anybody thinks we will get serious they are deluded. We won't spend half of what we bring in. So more second rate duds as usual. Transfer windows are utter torture for us. And i hope I am wrong, but i can't see any move from our board of useless, ambitionless, cheapskate cowards.
16 Jun 2026 17:46:49
the two mentioned don't want him. one of the passed strongest teams passed up the opportunity to sign him. but ok spend a minimum of £6.8 mill on him. who called osmand the messiah? your slagging a Celtic player who we never spent £6.8 million plus add ons for and standing up for on we've supposedly only asked about. strange.

Why not go and sign Just whis tried and tested and scored a few against us we'll regret not going for this boy.

£6.8m is a release clause. It is literally what it says on the tin. The club could sell him for less. Nah you’ve twisted my point. I never said a bad word about a Celtic player. I’m just highlighting the fact that our fan base can judge players way too early.
Starfelt was ran out the club because he made a couple bad passes but is arguably the best defender we’ve had since VVD.

I miss Starfelt, I always felt CCV played him into trouble.
Wrong player got sold in my opinion although he did want to move on.
