He's a class act, always has been.
The media love him, he can talk all week, give them nothing but laughs and anecdotes, and they only realise it when they sit down to submit their copy.
We're guaranteed nothing, in terms of results for the remainder of this season, but like practically every poster on this forum, I've got a lift and renewed confidence from MON coming back to CP. Imagine how those players must feel!
With MON, his staff and the players, there is unfinished business, as far as the rest of this season is concerned.
I think that he'll want to prove something to himself, the fans and the wider footballing community. Make no mistake, he'll be 74 in a couple of months but is as cometative now, as he was when he first arrived CP more than 25 years ago.
The recent passing of his good friend and colleague, John Robertson, will add more fuel to that fire.
We'll soon be back as favourites to win games instead of trying to avoid shipping needless goals, avoiding a 2nd half collapse and finally, avoiding hiding behind the couch as soon as the post match interview starts.
What a crazy season this has been and we're only halway there.

Mally i'm really hoping for a striker ASAP preferably one that's 1st team ready and upto speed fitness wise, if we had one from start of season i personally don't think we would be where we are in terms of league position etc HH.

An oven ready striker capable of banging 20 goals in from now until the final whistle in our cup final victory against Sevco, is a must.
If we exit this current transfer window and Maeda is first choice striker then we have a problem.
Even a 'big name' loan signing as first choice and someone like young Bowie from Hibs as back up could work.

Just heard not one Celtic employee or Director met Nancy before his appointment……all interviews were done (2 number) via Zoom. First face to face meeting was in London when he arrived. He spent a couple of days with Tisdale ( and one other director) but that was after his contract was signed.
Unheard of for a PLC to appoint a senior manager without a F2F interview. I know a number of people taking jobs in stars and gulf… all interviewed F2F. I had one myself in London for a job in Australia…. beggars belief as meeting WN you would grasp he didn't have the gravitas or presence for the job.
One other Thing…. We didn't interview anyone else.
Unforgivable and again almost unheard of for a senior position. That must rest with the CEO.

It took over 40 days to finally get Nancy although a verbal agreement was in place.
Well that's according to what Gordon Strachan let out the bag when he mentioned the new Celtic Manager wasn't coming until December.
Nancy was the Celtic Manager for less days than it took to sign him.

if true (and I'm not doubting you) then that is the most extraodinary way to go about making such an appointment.
PL and MN flew out to Spain to speak with BR when he was appointed for the second time and he'd already filled the trophy cabinet on his previous tenure.
The board have done themselves no favours whatsoever this season and Nancy's appointment, start to finish, can be added to that appalling list.

This season will be proving to be a very very valuble lesson in more ways than one for DD and his puppets.
All we can hope for is for DD to learn from it and never let it happen again.
Lawwell, Nancy and Tisdale are gone so this is a sign if nothing else that he must be absolutely fuming behind the scenes.

The forward thinking was the 2 mill compo to get Nancy and bringing his team in, it's went wrong and the reaction in the correct one, it's an interim until seasons end and is what we all want, we all demanded we club needed and might just save title, the seasons littered with issues from all directions (fans included) but spinning a negative on this in just don't think we should be doing (be careful the word entitled may come out ) it kinda fits the narrative.

We should win league without signings, we have best squad in league, imo to win league we need a rw Mexican guy might fit bill but min can play rb, decent as well prob, we desperately need a striker, and prob need another right winger out n out, Rangers doing us over and us missing all those first half chances imo has won us the league.

The one's we shortlisted before are not longer available. I read they admire the work of the Motherwell boss but that could be a summer move, if they continue in good form that is. I'm happy for MoN to be back.
Wasn't happy he was denied the chance to win the league cup final. Let's hope now we can get him another league trophy and sign off on a high. He needs a ST or two in the door though.

Martin was interviewed on Talksport today and he mentioned tbat he wants to supplement the squad. What that looks like who knows, i would hazard a guess and say potentially loans until a perm manager is appointed.

Frustration and anger is growing not just with the current fiasco, but reports are that we have signed an injured £2m winger and are looking to sign one of Nancy's Columbus 31 year old defenders.
If as feared they are set on sticking with this clown, they seem to be adding more dross to an already struggling squad. Utter madness.

That's a start and should at least give whoever comes in between now and the end of the season, a chance to get the title race back on track.
If it's MON and SM, give them funds for some key positions, striker etc and shut up the wannabes from Gorgie and Hunsville.
Some payback is on the cards here.
