This will probably be the best chance Celtic will have of reaching the CL Groups for the next decade at least.
Next season going forward only the Scottish Champions Qualify for the CL Qualifiers and then they will have to win all 3 Qualifying rounds to reach the Group stages.
Maybe that’s why Celtic could stick with Martin to give us continuity going into the CL Playoffs with a massive prize to the winners.
Celtic will have a good chance with us being Seeded.
Our chances will obviously become harder with a new Manager not having much time to find his feet.
We might not get another chance of being Seeded in a CL Playoff tie for the foreseeable.
{Ed007's Note - So basically when we continue to win the league we'll be the only team with a crack at the CL for the foreseeable?

Buzz I hope you are correct but if you remember we were seeded last year and everyone was delighted when we drew an "easy" team in Kairat Almaty look how that turned out.
I hope we have learned from last year and are more prepared this time.

It was a godsend that we never qualified this year imagi e a psg or a bayern against us ??.
{Ed007's Note - But realistically we will never compete with those teams on a consistent or regular basis, they're expecting semis (giggity) or a final ever year, we're never holding Celtic to that level of account in my lifetime. Look where some of the teams fans want us to model ourselves on, Ajax 32nd, Brugge 19th, Bodo/Glimt in 23rd.
Even if we had qualified, won a few point, took a few pumpings and banked the money thise ummer nobody would have cared if we had took a doing off PSG or Bayern, richer clubs than us have and will.}

The fans have learnt the hard way about last year, But I have my doubts about the board have or seam that bothered about last year. I would have thought the club would have been more advanced than just starting the interviews for the next manager they have had almost 6 months to sort it out.

That is our position in the new world of CL football.
We have to jump through hoops to qualify and then just hope to win a couple of games or get a few draws, maybe get to the last 24 but its about making money to keep us in front at home.
We have no chance competing with these top clubs nowadays.
We may do the odd Bayern but those results will be fewer and fewer realistically.
Unless the whole structure of European football collapses or changes and the money is evenly shared out, we will remain on the periphery looking in.
Sadly we need to be at the table to make the money we need to keep ahead domestically but making any meaningful progress is only going to get tougher.
The CL is only that in name, it is designed to favour the top 5 leagues. m where all the money already is.

For Celtic to progress we need champions league money every season.
However, the sad reality is our board seems unwilling to progress us and have shown a severe lack of ambition. That is why me and many other fans want them gone, as we had a great opportunity this season and failed to grasp it, due to their incompetence and lack of ambition.
World class in everything we do? My arse.

Joe, they have a big window to prove that they are in any way really invested in this club but we can see the window already, we are extending contra to players a new Manager might not want and the rest is the usual rumours.
Even across at ipox that are making signings. One free and another ex -player who will cost very little but they are getting who they want.
We don't even have a Manager.

Rodgers is the reason we failed to qualify for the champions league last season.
27 May 2026 11:24:48
Brendan was the problem last year.
27 May 2026 16:39:16
So it was Rodgers fault first team players were sold and never replaced ( ain’t we 50 odd goals down from last season) ? It was Rodgers fault the people who employed him were actively working against him? Rodgers was ? on twice by people who have held this club back for decades.
As for ambition, Desmond junior was sent to the AGM to confirm the lack of the aforementioned before slagging off the very people who fund this organisation. Viva la collective, long live the revolution. they want people to buy season tickets on a trust that no longer exists.

How were the problems there both before and after Rodgers if he was supposedly the cause?
The board completely mishandled recruitment. Regarding Rodgers, they had two clear options if they wanted to move the club forward:
Back Rodgers by bringing in the players he wanted before the Champions League qualifier.
Sack him, appoint a new manager, and properly support him in the transfer window.
Instead, the board chose a third option, and the consequences were massive. It nearly derailed our entire season. Thankfully, MON managed to salvage things, but we’ve still left ourselves in a poor position with the squad, recruitment, and a major drop in revenue.
All of this was avoidable and ultimately unforgivable.
