I think some people might need a lay down. That is ridiculous, I didn't hear any complaints about being Irish when Lennon beat Barcelona, or Rodgers won the invincible treble, or O'Neill in Seville, or O'Neill two weeks ago, or when Charlie Tully, Peacock and Fallon played when we beat Rangers 7-1. Better still, without Sean Fallon Jock Stein wouldn't have achieved half of what he did.
How many British players who made contributions to the club also had Irish parents and grandparents. Did you ever think that the reason we go for Irish wonderkids is because there's a good chance they are diehards like us.
Heard it all in here now with this anti-irish b@llix,.

When if ever have we bought an Irish wonderkid or of late even a decent Irish player. also Couldn't care if they're diehards only if they're good players eg dalglish mgrain etc etc not diehard celts. dd is he in his mind trying to repeat the success our modern day Irish managers have had for the club.
but should he have the only say in hiring ( or is it more democratic? ) . as an aside one previous Irish manager is a sneaky rat imo but not for being Irish.
{Ed007's Note - Liam Scales?}

Who has a problem with the Irish connection if they’re the best candidate, but, we don’t even know if we have even bothered to look beyond that element!

I’m not anti Irish I have Irish family and Irish heritage but just because you are Irish doesn’t make you good enough for our great football club and I stand my ground on my earlier statement Liam scales Johnny Kenny Jonathon afolabi Shane Duffy James McCarthy Luca Connell all not good enough! recently linked with Michael noonan vinnie Leonard mason melia cathal O’Sullivan.
{Ed007's Note - Feck getting that name on a top!

Am I missing something, isn’t Scales one of the best performing players for us over the past couple of years? It’s not been difficult to achieve that but been solid for us. One of them you’d miss if he left.
{Ed007's Note - I'd say so Ken

I don't think anyone is being anti Irish, however would we be looking at just MON and Keane if DD wasn't involved or is the case, making the decision on his own.
Sadly it looks as if we looked nowhere else. That in itself is a worry, how narrow the field of potential Managers has been drawn by one person.
If it has come down to just MON and RK, there is and should only be one winner.
MON has been there and done it. He has demonstrated how much he can get out of players who were believed not good enough to win a trophy's last season.
RK took a winning team and lost the league.
The club demonstrated that we looked worldwide for Managers previously, Ange and Nancy being examples and this time, because Nancy went so badly, we have narrowed the search to one man's contact list.
