Guys, with the world cup coming up I thought I'd post this. I was contact for an event today at Ibrox library with Mr. Archie MacPherson. Absolute gent of a man and a broadcasting legend. He is 92 now. Still driving. I asked him if he would like to take the lift as the room we had the event in was on L1.
No chance. Up and down he went. no bother. We had a mutual friend in the late Pat Woods, who was a former boss of mine and later a good friend. Ahhhhhh, lovely afternoon reminiscing about Archie Gemmell's goal and everything else.

I fondly remember Archie commentating on an England Scotland game at Wembley in 1975. We were getting pumped 5-1.
Archie: '. England 5 Scotland 1. But never mind that, just listen to these Scotland supporters. ' ?.

Was there too Buzz, the centenary Scottish chip final, beedie scored first if I remember right then provan free kick and the late mcgarvey headed the winner. I was 13 at the time. great memories.

The 1985 final was my first and only SC Final to date and I was also 13 yrs old at the time.
Provan's free kick was a thing of beauty.

At the the 1980 Scottish cup final he says at end these two sets of supporters hate each other lol they wouldn’t say that now.

The centenary final was the macca one goal provan was 85.

Then 1988 was Celtic Centenary Final.
