Looks like it’s a straight shootout between Martin O’Neill and Robbie Keane for the Celtic manager’s job after Craig Bellamy ruled himself out to continue managing the Welsh national team,
Dermot Desmond is apparently having a meeting with Robbie Keane tonight and Martin later in the week, Keane seemingly wants Scott Brown and Johnny Hayes in his backroom team, who would you like to get the job?, is Robbie ready to be Celtic manager? or would Martin for another year be the better option?, given that we will need a big rebuild of the squad would they invest heavily for Martin if he’s only going to be here for one season or do we give Robbie the funds to build the squad for the longer term? ??⚽️.

Neither preferably.

MoN for me. I love the guy, and I will admit if it was me. I'd either move upstairs or ride into the sunset. But, I'm just a fan and wants what's best for Celtic. In my humble opinion, the wrong appointment could set us back years and I don't trust this board to get it right. One year deal.

Ano it’s been mentioned on rumour site and now I have a bit of time to reflect in It, why would Keane b unhappy about working alongside MON, be his apprentice for a yr get to know club, analyse players together get the rebuild going then take over next yr, have Maloney doing background work. simple?‍♂️.

Because he's a manager in his own right who's won a league and Cup in Hungary.

Reports are saying that MoN AND KEANE for a year. Martin then moving upstairs. Brown to join the coaching team. SM head of recruitment. If true, I would be over the moon!

Out the two i'd take MON for the year. there's too much unrest still there between fans and board, so much work to be done on the playing side, and not that I see it happening, but a clear out at boardroom level needed. add to that the hiring of Keane, with the palestine/ Israel political stuff i cannot see how hiring him. isn't adding fuel to the fire.

the only way to soften the appointment of Keane is to keep oneil close by in some capacity at the club. he's the one man right now i'd suggest the fans have full trust in. for me whoever gets this job needs two things minimum, he needs heavily backed in recruitment, and equally if not more importantly backed by the fa.

I cannot believe that they are the only 2 Interviewed. What a shambles.

One is a great guy who is a legend at our club and saved the board last year but should now step away and we should be modernising.

The other, no offence to him, is just not ready to be our Manager.

This is DD sticking the single digit to fans, saying ''I am in charge'.

An absolute joke.

Agree MIP, it's absolutely shocking if that's all we could come up with.

02 Jun 2026 12:49:15
For me it would be MoN for a year, only because he knows what is needed. As far as playing staff go there is without exaggerating a huge build for the coming season and bringing in anyone that doesn't know the extent of the build is a big gamble more so than any other year.

Shaun Maloney helped sign the players in January he should be nowhere near the recruitment department of our football club he’s a great coach and did good in the pathway role have him coach the youth teams and first team in one role and as for Johnny Hayes being mentioned the b team finished 10th if I’m right unacceptable sackable offense no more jobs for the boys brown is a failed manager as well stay away Keane is his own problem but he plays youth players develops talent can operate on little money did Wel in Europe and likes his teams to play fast pressing progressive football he’s not many’s first choice but he will get the job and if he does and he’s given money he may do us well.
