I read an interesting story yesterday which suggested that MON may be behind SM and Fozzie not being re contracted.
The writer claimed that MON wants and more attacking style of football and not the possession based stuff we have been watching and he thinks that those 2 were responsible for the way the team played.
MON is a hands off type of Manager and doesn't get involved in training and coaching and he was frustrated with how the team played last season and wants a change.
The writer did say he wasn't sure if the Efrain story had any truth in it but he plays and more attacking style and has been successful doing it.
It was also suggested that as MON had been taken in at such short notice last time, it wasn't his choice to take SM or Fozzie, SM was already in the club and Fozzie wasn't working, so it was a no brainer at the time. Had he had time, he wouldn't have used them as his coaching team.
The fact the MON signed his contract before his coaching team were signed up may suggest that there may be some truth in it but why would the club then make any offer to SM as he was back in his previous role and Fozzie was unemoyed again.
Interesting point if view.

Or maybe he thought they've signed me so they'll automatically sign my backroom staff as well. only fir the biscuit tin to come out.

Sounds like bs Martin consistently praised his coaches and gave them most of the credit for how the season went.

Very interesting and makes sense, but where’s the story of less money on offer coming from if mon didn’t want them,
I have no clue like most but I’d like someone in there different, Liverpool Man City wolves Ipswich the list goes on of managerial and therefore backroom staff changes where people are available, but so is Roy Keane probably lol, I’m trying to think who Mon would have connections with and it would be from his roi job I’d imagine.

Although we did win the double under very difficult circumstances, I think we all could see the urgent need for change and improvement. The fannying about at the back has to stop and we definitely need a stronger spine through the team with much more presence and class as we conceded far too many while not scoring our usual quota.
MON has had amazing success at Celtic but the current squad does not stand up in comparison with previous quality and ability. However, it's unlikely the current Board will back him significantly unless there is seismic change at Celtic in attitudes and ambition.
Changes in the backroom may have some positive influence but IMO some of our players are too set in their ways and easily fall into bad habits because of their limitations. That's why we need better.
No doubt there will be departures this summer and the funds raised on top of a portion of any CL money has to be invested in the team; but I won't hold my breath.

Not so sure about that mate, a would credit the backroom staff as well as MoN for winning league and obviously the players for stepping up. MoN apparently sanctioned all the loanees that came in on Jan again not so sure how much truth in it time will tell.

Has tied behind back whilst being triped up by the board.

I hope none but who is coaching the players into playing this terrible sudeways garbage that cost us so many points last season.
We haven't played attractive football for a couple of seasons.
As Ed said previously maybe CM is responsible for playing it about in midfield instead of looking up and passing over or through defences.
In any case we do need a change and if getting in new coaching staff, I am all for it.
I add to that, if CM vacated his role to Engels and possibly plays further forward or we replace him and he heads off to Saudi with all our thanks and KT or AJ takes the armband.
We started playing possession football because it was the way to play but other coaches have moved onto moving the ball quickly forward, fast flowing football and we are stuck years behind.

Juarez apparently close to taking over the team that won the Hungarian league. So can't see that rumour having any truth in it.

Very interesting. Ed. your take?
{Ed007's Note - As I've said previously I wouldn't at all be surprised if MON wanted to freshen up the coaching staff with some new blood. But since the weekend there has been some rumours rumbling that Maloney - who still has a contract with Celtic btw - wants to go back to his pathways role which has lead back to the he might get a sporting director/DOF type role.
Even the rumours about rumours around Celtic are pi$h!}
