I seen that Butland has saved 7 penalties from the last 8 penalties he's saved.
It's wasn't that long ago I was laughing at Butland for standing behind the line with his strange technique when facing a penalty.
The Celtic record at saving penalties in recent years is an absolute joke.
I make it we have conceded with the last 11 penalties we have faced since Joe Hart saved a penalty against Feyenoord when we lost 2-0 with 9 men.
Our league record at saving penalties is horrendous.
Celtic have conceded our last 14 or 15 penalties we have faced since Boyce hit the post at Tynecastle 4 Years Ago.
The league penalty missed before that was Nesbitt for Hibs during lockdown but he scored the rebound.
Hearts also missed a penalty at Celtic Park in August 2019 but also scored the rebound.
The last league penalty a Celtic keeper actually saved without the ball hitting the woodwork or a rebound being scored was in September 2019.
Fraser Forster saved a home penalty against Midfielder Power of Kilmarnock in a 3-1 win.
Celtic keepers did save penalties away to Hearts and Ross County but they were penalised for being off their line and the retakes were scored.
One penalty that hit the post and one rebound penalty that was scored is all we have to show from facing Over 20 penalties in the league.
Total Abysmal.
It didn't get any better in the Years before 2019 when Craig Gordon had a horrendous record at saving penalties throughout his whole career.
Fraser Forster had a good record in his first spell at Celtic before Craig took over about at least a decade ago.
I don't think Celtic have saved 7 penalties in all those years since those Fraser Forster's first spell days.
( obviously not counting shootouts )

But he's a limited keeper buzz look at the goal at the near post against hearts, he's always got a mistake in him bit like ours.

Throw into the mix Celtic have not scored direct from a free kick in a league match for the last 5 Years.
( Turnbull versus Hibs in January 2021 )
Turnbull however did score an in-direct free kick against St. Johnstone with the last kick of the match a few seasons ago to make it 4-1.
Also during that period Jota scored a direct free kick in a CL match against Real Madrid.
It's a wonder how Celtic have been so dominant domestically with such terrible records at both ends of the pitch with penalties and free kicks.

I haven't watched him much this season but he used to be very weak low down on his left, were the penalties saved on his low left, that's where I would put a penalty if it tvwas me, unless he has improved or I might be totally wro.

I'm also not sure if that part of his game has improved aindoh.
But you're right because he was previously weak down to his left.

Regarding the posts yesterday about BFDJ
I remember he used to have a gig at Ibrox as one of the ex players meeting and greeting all the fans in their expensive lounge area, these "celebrities" jobs were to glad hand fans paying fortunes for a meal, let fans take a photo etc
Anyway story goes big DJ was always posted missing as he was already inside EATING ALL THE FOOD.

Haven't laughed like that in a while! Jeez pop over to gullible land, they are discussing PRIME Borna Barasic! The Prime Borna Barasic that hobbled off the game before every derby as he was bricking it to play Celtic????.
30 Dec 2025 16:13:28
As bad as tav defending back post and remember xallum calling him a sjitebag.
29 Dec 2025 09:01:22
What about Derek Johnstone making an arse of himself on sat, if that had been at our place there would be a public enquiry.
29 Dec 2025 11:35:21
BFDJ has seriously went downhill from being a Dundee United fan as a youngster.
The poison has got to him unfortunately.
29 Dec 2025 13:47:49
He knows he needs to play up to the gallery as he needs to be invited back to help with cash flow after losing his gig on the radio as a Sevco Cheerleader.
29 Dec 2025 20:18:13
Fat loser mind before we we signed Scott brown he said he'd leave his job if monkeys didn't sign him then said after it who leaves there job for things like that, I'm glad he don't get much airtime now, hope the slug is next.

Bfkb should concentrate on his own team with regards to penalties, because motherwell had a stone waller denied and yet again it is the same referees and Var . Dickinson and Dallas on var from his office inside greyskull. And if Celtic had an ex player on the park shouting Ira they would have been vilified both in the press and by the authorities.
Yet this mob can have Bfdj shouting "no surrender" on the park yet nothing from press, authorities or even the police for blatant religious bigotry.
28 Dec 2025 15:07:47
Is he still living? Wow.
28 Dec 2025 15:33:45
The decisions for them are racking up, a couple against Dundee United a couple against killie yesterday was ridiculous.
28 Dec 2025 16:28:23
Maybe the Officials knew Motherwell have scored the most penalties in the league this season and they refused to allow Sevco the chance to fall further behind.
I'm sure ex Motherwell mascot Baby Dallas and Kevin Clancy will make up for it on Tuesday night.
29 Dec 2025 16:51:40
Also put Douglas Ross into the mix tomorrow night.
I noticed they've put him at the opposite end of the field away from the Celtic fans.
28 Dec 2025 08:23:08
Motherwell have decent pacy wide men so Tues night will be a hoot.
28 Dec 2025 09:27:50
Their set up is well suited to play against our set up, se we could be in real danger against them.
A team with their scoring boots on will create and score lots of goals against our team.
We are playing a system that requires us to outscore the opposition and we are doing it without a striker.
We have no goalscorer that ensures we will take the chances we create but we are playing a system which is built around being able to that.
That is what really worries me, we are vulnerable at the back but have no real threat up front that guarantees us goals.
29 Dec 2025 06:49:28
That is also a major concern for me.
29 Dec 2025 12:46:09
Agree Motherwell will be a real test but Nancy needs to be cut some slack and can only be judged fairly after he get's his own players in the door and has at least a pre season under his belt.
Look at what he's inherited, the poorest Celtic squad that we've had in years. Ralston, Kenny, Hatate and co - hardly world beaters - more like grouse beaters.
Posters on here talking about CCV, currently injured again, he isn't going to provide the answers if/ when he get's back.
With an initial three or four players in the door, crucially that fit his system, in next months window, if he tightens up the defence and has someone at the other end to score goals, that's a different team.
We sold our first choice striker 11 months ago and our back up striker in the summer for a combined £17M, and the new manager has got Kenny to work with - Johnny Kenny.
Inheacho, signed for free at 2 minutes to midnight in the final moments of the summer window, is not the answer. If he's ever fit long enough for a run of games I'm sure we'll find that out, hopefully he's released asap.
Blaming the new manager as a direct result of the players that he's inherited being unable to adapt to his style of play is total nonesense.
He plays one way, as did AP and BR, given time it could be interesting.
The big picture and real issues that concern the majority of the Celtic supporters are at board level and rightly so.
How the club is run, from the top down but again, that's not the managers fault.
Personally, Nancy was never my choice but he's our manager and deserves to be supported. It would seem that some think by him failing, the board will suddenly pack up and exit the building - think again.

See sevco got away with another one yesterday.
28 Dec 2025 09:48:28
That's Livingston Kilmarnock D. United and now Motherwell being robbed in plain site by biased officals.10 days of greeting and demanding meetings has worked!
28 Dec 2025 10:52:51
Fernandez is the new Goldson of Scottish football.
Other players would've been penalised 3 times for penalties in the last month but yet Fernandez got away with all 3 incidents.
28 Dec 2025 15:10:33
Aye he definitely is buzz. he's a cert"flash point" in the next Derby game.
27 Dec 2025 13:44:22
3-0 Hibs, are the wheels coming off?
As ever it is still about what we do.
27 Dec 2025 13:43:16
A win is imperative at anytime. But Hibs look to have done us a favour today.
26 Dec 2025 11:53:19
Since there's a lot of unhappy fans this year anyone got 2 adult and 1 kid tickets for the old firm game ?.
26 Dec 2025 12:40:36
You will also need a time machine.
23 Dec 2025 15:11:12
See sevco and their wee cousins getting active in the market.
23 Dec 2025 17:05:10
They are the wee currant buns now!
23 Dec 2025 18:56:31
The wee buns have a rb and a striker on the way.
23 Dec 2025 23:58:25
Aye the Sevco using the "On Loan Deals Again", targeting past flops ??.
