Apparently Daizen has been talking to the media when meeting up with Japan.
Being reported in the DR that Diazen had been talking to a club right up until deadline day regarding a move. Apparently personall terms were agreed but Celtic blocked the move as we had no replacement.
Nothing reported in the media during the transfer window.

Did we stall wingers to prove to meada we couldn’t sell him ( far fetched but plausible ) we go get 2 wingers and a striker (unproven) and we lose a proven main stay of current team .
At least we know we now need to replace meada for sure (unless we show the love and get him on new deal) the negativity all around club won’t be doing any players especially new ones any good.
{Ed007's Note - Looking back, wasn't Jota signed to be Maeda's replacement this season?}

If maeda is saying he agreed terms dies that mean the club had sanctioned it and then didn't allow him to leave because we couldn't get a replacement, sounds familiar.

In my head Ed, Jota was bought to replace Kuhn, he told club last November he wanted out. Then we get Jota. Same way I always thought Idah was Kyogo replacement.
{Ed007's Note - Jota's a left winger and Khun plays on the right.}

In a nutshell the Celtic board will have made an agreement with him that he could leave if a replacement was signed, the board will then stall on signings and made out they couldn’t get anyone in, which is why he couldn’t leave. That’s how this wretch of a board operates, and one individual in particular who for some reason has influence despite saying he has nothing to do with transfers, a BS statement simply to cop any flack. I don’t need to spell it out but it isn’t a coincidence when ange was here in charge this same individual wasn’t at the club and deals were done sharpish and in place, the way it should be.
This point is simply made to make other supporters aware and to sit up and take notice.

No matter what the story is, he's still a very well paid Celtic player and you'd expect him to be professional about it. Well I would anyway!

When ange was here the transfers took ages as well. Ange was asking the club to be more decisive and get things done much quicker.

Celtic apparently 'blocked a move' to sell Maeda, as they had no replacement signed.
I find this hard to believe as our board don't usually mind selling players regardless of whether a replacement is available or not. ? ? ?.

If it is what board did to keep a better player then well done, he has a wc coming up, wel get some good stuff out him, show guy some love and tell him he’s off after World Cup “ get us our league first”, this isn’t a big issue, bigger issue is, new manager, squad budget and players we end up with next year ( board are risking us being another version of sevco) need Rodgers to pull this team the fans and club together, all self inflicted but repairable by winning matches,

The DR have mentioned this, absolute load of crap, If there was a big offer Maedas agent would surely of made the public find out about it, can't even name the club he was linked with, load of utter gash, google something more interesting than celtic gossip because if you believe everything Anthony Joseph says then more fool you.
If I was the board and a "big" offer came in for Daizen id of sold him, left Rodgers in a pickle and see how good of a manager he really is, trying to win the league with a team not as superior to his opponents, I think many forget that the success we have had should be a given based on our superior financial position to the rest of the league!
{Ed007's Note - Maeda done an interview for the Japanese press while on international duty, :
On September 4th, the Japanese national team, currently touring the United States, held their fourth day of training near Auckland in preparation for their friendly match against Mexico on the 6th local time.
Celtic striker Maeda Daizen, who spoke to reporters after the training session, was asked about his delay in joining the national team due to "club circumstances," to which he revealed that he had been plotting a transfer.
"I received an offer. I had been telling the club that I wanted to take the next step, but Celtic hadn't been able to strengthen their squad properly, so in the end they told me they couldn't let me go."
With rumours of interest from clubs like Brentford, when asked, "Is it the Premier League?" he replied, "I can't say," but revealed that he had reached a personal agreement.
"Personally, I had agreed, so I wanted to take on the challenge. The national team also delayed my joining, and I really asked Celtic until the last day, but it didn't happen."
The transfer he had hoped for did not materialize. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old striker looked forward, saying, "I've decided to stay at Celtic, so I want to do my best as a member of the team. "
