How much power does DD actually wield over the board? It appears by all accounts that BR was his choice but the board have shown pretty much total opposition and hostility to his appointment since he came back. Have DD and BR fallen out? Have DD and the rest of the board fallen out? Can't figure out if there is some sort of power struggle going on.
The collective seem to be the only ones with any clear aims and objectives. Vive la revolution.

DD has enough voting rights to get rid of anyone he wants and bring in anyone he wants.
Therefore, it is my guess that Dermot gets what he wants and if you are not doing that you are gone, just like Dom McKay was kicked out.

Only about 3 years ago a couple of Directors were given a vote of No Confidence at the Celtic AGM.
But DD didn’t take those votes into consideration by smoothing everything over and swept it all under the carpet.
That’s when it was made obvious there’s No point to a Celtic AGM.
Plus the fact that Dermot Desmond hasn’t made an appearance at a Celtic AGM in over 20 years speaks volumes.
The Celtic collective fans have had enough and most don’t blame them.

I've certainly had enough of this poor governance buzz.

Desmond is the clubs biggest problem.
Our ambition can only go as far as his.

If that’s the case why is he letting BR be pissed on by people clearly out of their depth in football terms?
{Ed007's Note - I got sent this as a Whatsapp message yesterday, one of those forwarded many times nobody knows where it came from:
Brendan Rodgers picked Engels for £11M, Idah for £9M, along with a few others.
The biggest fault of the Board is that they did not sack Brendan in the summer.
The Board don’t trust Brendan. To be more precise, Dermot doesn’t. So much so, there is no longer any direct communication between the two. (The apologie story is true by the way)
The Board, rightly or wrongly, blame Brendan for the Champions League exit. More specifically, they blamed Idah or start strike. He was literally sold behind Brendan’s back, hence his cryptic comments during that weekend:
“The boys done nothing wrong.”
Why don’t the Board trust Brendan?
Because the players he sanctioned to be brought in have not delivered. Not one of them.
The players he asked for ahead of the 25/26 season were all rejected by Paul Tisdale, Head of Football Operations. His job is to:
“Oversee the development and management of effective operations to support high-level football and recruitment processes.”
He’s a man almost overlooked in this drama.
Paul and Brendan were/are good mates, but they kinda fell out over transfers. So much so that Brendan then rejected every player the recruitment team recommended. This, in turn, led to a delayed and disastrous transfer window.
In August 2025, when asked whether Celtic would make signings before the Champions League playoff, Rodgers said:
“I really don’t know. … We just have to keep working to get the players in and there is a lot of work going on with Paul Tisdale and his staff.”
He did know. He kept rejecting the players being recommended, he named checked Paul wile distant himself from the debacle.
We all remember the Danny and the tracksuit story. We know how Brendan likes to tell a story that isn’t quite true.
And that brings us to the poor start to the season.
This isn’t about not having players. It’s about not getting the best out of the ones we already have. On paper, this squad should be five points clear at the top of the league, not chasing shadows.
Brendan Rodgers has been backed in ways other managers weren’t, but the reality is he has not delivered. The team looks disjointed, the tactics predictable, and the atmosphere fractured.
Yes, the board carries its share of the blame, but Rodgers can’t escape his role in this either. The players are good enough to win this league comfortably. The table tells a different story.
And that, ultimately, falls on the man in the dugout.

Ed how did bhoy88 get your WhatsApp details? ?.
{Ed007's Note - ??? It was the red basque shot that clinched it!!!

If they thought so little of BR, why not just sack him. It’d cost less than they paid HMRC
By the way, that still doesn’t explain the last 15 years of CL fuck ups.
22 Oct 2025 14:05:26
Exactly chasa if it's so divided then surely they just sack him.

Did he send a pic as well? ?.
{Ed007's Note - A stack of them! ?
