We don't know if DD's statement is fact or an attempt to deflect the pressure on the board.
What i do know is in the 2nd last paragraph there is a blatant lie "Every pound generated by the club is reinvested" This makes me think the rest of this statement is made up nonsense in a naive attempt to get the support onside.
It is actually possible that Rodgers could sue the Club for defamation of character. The statement was embarrassing and if DD thinks this will get the support onside it goes to show just how out of touch he is with the situation at our Club.

@stevie are we also supposed to believe that Rodgers sanctioned the sell of idah at the end of the transfer window, to leave himself with johnny Kenny and shin yamada as his 1st and 2nd choice striker. Especially after they had not replaced kyogo over 6 months later and never replaced Kuhn.
When there are obvious falsehoods in the statement, it makes me question the rest of the content.

Every word of the DD letter will have been carefully considered by him and his legal team. If you guys are right then let the ugly court case begin.

Brendan Rodgers is not squeaky clean in this calamitous season. However, there is always 2 sides to any story and the statement reeked of personal resentment and hurt and may have been brewing for some time. The ex-manager has so far said nothing, but whether his lawyer will speak on his behalf remains to be seen.
Desmond is not a popular figure with a lot of support and is seen as the pantomime villain. A role he quite possibly relishes.
I don't think we have heard the end of this messy divorce and the supporters definitely won't ease off - although complete clarity and transparency would save so much time and effort.

I guess we'll see in time if we get a statement from Brendan.
Tho here's a bit of food for thought, I seen a thread online of Leicester City fans talking about DD's statement and the similarities of the end of his tenure there and his end here.

None of us know where the tights and wrongs lie. Do I dislike the Board? Yes. Too conservative with a small c. No communication. Up themselves. It's been done to death on this site. But BR made a rod for his own back with his comments in recent times. He's not squeaky clean either and I'm glad we're rid of him.
Point to consider. In our desire for change at the Top, who would you rather have in place? DD or the good ol' 49ers or of that ilk? Other than Man city and Liverpool ( and they're in the stratosphere so maybe a poor comparison) , as I survey the landscape of clubs who have changed ownership, which teams are the better for it.
Serious question ?. Let's be careful what we wish for.

The word reinvested didn't state in transfers specifically. So the statement would i indicate reinvestment in general. As its deliberately vague its legally fine. However did not state reinvestment in transfers.
