Im no legal buff but i have read a few fans elsewhere mentioning Rodgers may have got compensation for leaving in return for him signing a Non Disclosure Agreement so he can't talk about Celtic when he leaves.
Im not sure how realistic this scenario is but surely he would never have signed one if he knew Desmond was going to sh*t all over him like that.
It will be interesting to see if Rodgers responds. If he does not then it may prove this claim to be correct.
Also i'm guessing Desmond would have had an army of Lawyers go over every word before releasing it. there's no way he releases that without getting it legally checked and/ or Rodgers signing a NDA. He would get himself in some serious sh*t.

BR is apparently in Brazil and there are rumours he may be heading to manage in Saudi.
I don't think DD is daft enough to make that statement without clarifying that it is all true legally first, otherwise we are in for a total s**t storm when BR comes back to UK.

If he is well out of the country, I would think the announcement was possibly delayed, while he grabbed a head start on the media frenzy to avoid awkward questions and answers.

I'd imagine an NDA was exactly what was offered by the board and signed by BR in return for;- (1) his silence and (2) a good few quid deposited into his offshore account.
I'm no legal expert either but I've signed two or three NDA's in the past, including one with the last company I worked for in the UK.
DD, for everything that is posted about him, negative or otherwise, is a self made billionaire, with a net worth of approx $2.5B US (Forbes) and he's far from being anybody's fool.
As misplaced as his statement was (IMO) I'd bet he's fully covered against any recourse from BR.

NDAs normally work both ways, if they buy your silence then the generally they can't comment about you as that may breach the NDA.
I have signed 4 or 5 (2 with clubs) , and they have all had reciprocal clauses, Pedro can perhaps confirm if he still has a copy I don't.
But of course DD is old, grumpy and entitled and may just have wanted a rant, that ay possibly have breached the contract.

yes, I agree. The NDA should protect both the employer and employee.
Baring in mind though, my last NDA had about 10 bob attached to it, not the pay off BR will get.

there could be a number of reasons e. g legal action by BR against the club or perhaps a follow up book at some point where BR could slander certain individuals at the club.
