I was looking at the Intercontinental Cup when the European Cup winners played the South American Champions.
It started in 1960 until 1979 over 2 legs and then from 1980 until 2004 with just one playoff match to decide the World Club Champions.
It was always very tight with the 2 leg ties finishing 9 wins each but the South American Champions won overall 22-21 with 2 ties in the 1970s not being played.
From 1960 until 1968 which included the Celtic games.
It was taken in turns which Continent the first leg was played and Aggregate scores didn't count until 1969.
When Celtic played it was 2pts for a win and 1pt for a draw.
It meant with it being One win each the playoff was in South America because it was their turn for the second leg to be on their Continent.
A few years earlier Inter Milan lost their first leg in South America but won the second leg in the San Siro.
Inter Milan then won their playoff tie in Real Madrid's famous Stadium.
I was just wondering if it was Europe's turn to have the second leg when Celtic played, where the playoff match would've taken place?
I was thinking maybe Wembley.

Was it the 1967 Intercontinental Cup ties between Celtic and Racing Club, Argentina? There's a wiki page about it here;

A good read.
