He doesn't want to take the chance Kyogo took last January when he couldn't get a start for his new club.
Not with the World Cup only 6 months away.
Maeda will definitely be looking for a move again in the summer and I don't blame him.

Who wouldn't want Meada to stay, he's probably one of our best.
{Ed007's Note - And that's a damning indictment! In all his time here Maeda had a 6 month purple patch in the second half of last season, the correct & prime time to sell him was in the summer. Kuhn outshone him in the first half of last season and have you noticed the shouts about him playing as a striker have died a death - it was bad enough watching Kyogo missing sitters week in and week out.
Take away Maeda's pace and drive/energy and what do you have - a very average actual footballer.}

Not sure how long he has left of his contract, but having a good world cup would boost his value, where the board spend it would be another thing, but given they have given permission to the football doctor (paul tisdale) to be the man, gives me the fear.

Maeda can play as a striker, he should always have been utalised as someone who "can" play there, he's as nullified as kyogo if our system doesn't play to his strengths, we've been so disastrous on either wing he should be wide left and no where else, if anything if we got at least one side going consistently and causing issues and building form maybe we could have seen better results, new system is even more worrying for maeda for me as he isn't decent back to goal imo, strange strange times.

Ed - you serious, take away the pace, the drive and energy from messi or Ronaldo you have paddy McCourt a very average player.
{Ed007's Note - Yeah because Messi and Ronaldo weren't born with unbelievable footballing ability, but maybe if Maeda had been pumped full of HGH he would be able to kick the ball 3 yards into the goal more regularly, Paddy McCourt was a far better footballer than Maeda.}

Biggest underperformer from last season. Worst player is subjective as he has plenty of competition for that accolade. Sell him, he's offered nothing all season. It's funny now he wants to stay when nobody wants him. Delusions of grandeur if he thinks he can cut it in a better league the way he's been playing.
