Reading a post further down about Ronny Deila and the visions he had for Celtic. Unfortunately only winning in Scotland is what success is based on .
When Delia came in was the ideal time for a total overhaul of the club, there wasn't any kind of challenge at that time, but the Club bottled it and went back to the old tried and tested after a few bad results in Cup ties and Ronny was sacked . The fans demanded this.
Let's be honest here, we are all guilty of always wanting success, none more so than the Celtic support.

Its all very well saying we need a new vision for the club from top to bottom, let's follow the Bodo Glimt, Brugge way etc.
How many can honestly say I would take 2 or 3 seasons of not winning the league in the hope we can bear the fruits in the future?
The difference between Clubs like ones mentioned above and Celtic is they can accept, and their fans can accept going a few seasons without winning . We can't, infact one poor performance and all hell breaks loose at our Club.

Scottish clubs are being let down by the SFA for not having a competitive reserve league.
Celtic and other clubs will continue to struggle developing youngsters until the SFA makes a reserve league compulsory for top league clubs.

I seem to remember a few players seriously undermined RD during his tenure and the hun media also seen him as a soft touch, but his philosophy was very innovative and maybe ahead of it;s time in the stagnant SPL environment. I think Leigh Griffiths may have had his best ever season under RD and the formation and style suited him.

I was thinking the same Celtic Mad.
I remember Kris Commons going crazy in the dugout at the Molde or Malmo defeat.

Stevie27. Good post. Celtic fans, me included, are especially happy when we beat the Gers. Celtic fans would have a meltdown if we didn't win the league. We are spoilt with success for the fast 20 years. I remember the 90s, when Rangers dominated the league.

The club needs modernising, I agree. How that is achieved and still keep winning is the big issue. Maybe getting outside advisers specialising in company restructuring would be a possibility.

Ronny wasn't sacked. He quit and I remember reading somewhere that Lawell wanted him to stay on.

Break away spl2 with u23 b teams playing championship level, that's what we and national team need.

Ronnie would never have survived another season because the majority of Celtic fans wanted him out.

A few days after he lost to Championship club Sevco on Penalties he mentioned he was resigning at the end of the season.
There's no doubt Ronnie would've been sacked if he hadn't resigned first.

I seem to remember an article about Ronnie's request for upgraded facilities at Lennoxtown that included having a full size pitch indoors for winter training sessions.

I may be wrong but I'm sure the photo that accompanied the story showed the solution to be a huge inflatable, heated cover (almost like an oversized bouncy castle) that sat around a full size outdoor pitch, meaning you could train on it no matter what the weather conditions were.

The board I believe seemed to scoff at his request.

The climate in Scotland is not great but far from being the harshest when you look at Scandinavian clubs, yet, in general, we always do it on the cheap or try and get away with the minimal outlay.

RD was a good coach, probably a better coach than manager, and if we're to progress as a club at all levels then the dinosaurs sitting around that boardroom table need a serious shakeup. ?

Deila for DOF?

The problem with Ronny was that he was brought in by PL to be ass manager to Roy Keane who had agreed to come in
Keane then told PL that he wouldn't have anyone thrust on him and pulled out of the job, PL then panicked and gave Ronny the job.

Ronny had great ideas but was totally undermined by the ar*ewhole players including Brown, Mulgrew and Commons.
John Collins was also very good but most of the squad couldn't handle his fitness regime.

Pedro our facilities are light years behind the Scandinavians, am sure Deila would have been disappointed! With the dome the board went to the planning department for it and it was kiboshed due to the training ground being on a flight path!

Ronny wouldn't have been sacked. Lawell tried to get him to stay and withdraw his resignation.

Dc I try to break it down for you and then you can change your mind whether Ronnie would still have been our Manager for the 2016/ 17 season if he wanted it.

Celtic failed to reach the CL which I suppose is normal but he also had the embarrassment of being knocked out twice the previous season with Legia and Maribor.

Celtic only won 26 league games in his last season which was quite low.
Celtic lost to Falkirk in the League Cup.
Celtic lost to Championship side Sevco in the SC.
Celtic failed to win any Europa League games and finished bottom of the table.

I also believe it was a myth that Celtic had a super fit team under Ronnie.
Strachan had my far the fittest team I've seen watching Celtic.

Ronnie was a poor manager…. Watching
Celtic was so bad with him. Worst attendances we have had in a long time.

Massively out his depth…not his fault. Tried his best and decent guy but job far to big for him.

Do we never learn any lessons at this club…. Heaven help us if we appoint an inexperienced manager only worked in low grade USA/ Canada leagues.

Someone mentioned him the other day but a guy like Ralf Rangnick but for the role Tisdale has to modernise the club from top to bottom.

The main issue with that as Buzz mentioned is the lack of a reserve league.

Although it was mentioned for a breakaway euro league but a trans Atlantic reserve league would be good. Those involved who probably don't have a good reserve league system set up already.

Would be a good way of scouting some up and coming youth players too as a scout or club member could oversee all reserve games involving Celtic and see who stands out from the other teams. It might be easier to poach a few talents too as they will be playing in the same reserve set up, only with a different club with the potential of a clearer pathway to the first team.
