Rogic rejected new contract supoosedly.

1.) 23 Feb 2018 14:42:12
He should be punted anyway.
Doesn't matter how good he is if he's spending 75% of out injured.

{Ed007's Note - That's the problem, Kev. Rodgers feels he can't rely on him over a long season. I posted on a thread the other week that Rogic is in his sixth season with us and has only managed 117 games in that time and it's only 74 of them that are league appearances.}

2.) 23 Feb 2018 14:55:42
Tierney has played that in 2 seasons ed007.
Both rogic boyata and Jozo are in same boat. How can you build a stable midfield or defence when they are never fit.

{Ed007's Note - There's no question about his ability and if I'm being honest I reckon we'd struggle to hold onto Rogic if he was fully fit for a couple of seasons but I'll be surprised if ever gets to that level.}

3.) 23 Feb 2018 15:32:20
Everytime I talk about him I end up comparing him to Phil O'Donnell. Like O'Donnell he will never reach the hights his skill level should take him to.

4.) 23 Feb 2018 16:51:03
Any squad news for Sunday yet? Anyone coming back from injury?

5.) 23 Feb 2018 16:54:35
So why did Rogic get on before Musonda last nite i thought that Musonda would've been on first t play the ten roll not the winger role he did come on for?

6.) 23 Feb 2018 17:21:59
Rogic got on because he has magic feet. When he's fit he's our best player, probably right that we would struggle to keep hold of him tbh. I would still hate to see him go.

7.) 23 Feb 2018 17:23:01
he is 50 times the player o'donnell was.

8.) 23 Feb 2018 17:37:47
I've never seen a player like Rogic last night coming on and no making an effort to run and chance and harry for the ball first then use your skills to create.

9.) 23 Feb 2018 17:45:27
ORD we keep hear people like yourself keep saying When he's fit but he never is.
His average is under 20 game a season
His average for league games in about 12.5 games a season.
That is no use to us at all.

10.) 23 Feb 2018 17:47:53
James I don't agree there but even if that's true the parallels are still there.
O'Donnell had the skill to go higher than he did but being constantly injured stopped that.
Rogic also has the skill to go higher but won't because injury will stop it.

11.) 23 Feb 2018 20:24:30
kev, you obviously didn't watch rogic win the scottish cup last year single handedly.

12.) 23 Feb 2018 20:35:31
I don't think Rogic has the skill that many of you do, and wouldn't be phased if he left tomorrow. Could he become a good or great player? Who cares. He isn't dynamic enough to do what is required in his chosen role in the modern game. Punt.

13.) 23 Feb 2018 21:49:39
Jb67 he didn't win it single handedly so please stop exaggerating. He score a cracking goal but the team won the Scottish cup.

14.) 23 Feb 2018 23:36:41
Kev, rogic did win the cup with a piece of individual skill.

15.) 24 Feb 2018 09:32:34
James so if we had played just rogic we would have won the cup then?
Keeper didn't make any saves that day?
Defenders never made any tackles at all?
Rest of midfield didn't chip in at all?
Just rogic he done it all?

16.) 24 Feb 2018 09:40:07
Was sure Armstrong score a good goal that day to.

17.) 24 Feb 2018 11:13:45
Brendan saying he knows nothing about this story could it b more made up guff from our beloved media.

18.) 24 Feb 2018 12:49:02
give it up kev you're like an old sweetie wife, the guy scored the WINNING goal, and you know that is my point, grow up.

19.) 24 Feb 2018 16:30:28
Ye I did say he score a cracking goal but you said he won it single handedly which was nonsense james.
Like I said team won the Scottish cup.

20.) 24 Feb 2018 18:26:57
with a single handed piece of skill.

30 May 2017 15:37:29
Solanke to liverpool.

17 Jan 2017 23:08:47
Fabio Sturgeon being looked at? Supposedly we had scouts at game last week.

1.) 17 Jan 2017 23:23:55
Something fishy bout that

2.) 18 Jan 2017 10:05:46
Celtic dismissed the link, everything at the club is well under wraps when it comes to transfers if anyone is signed we won't know if there are talks until the club openly admits it

3.) 18 Jan 2017 11:42:59
I had a google at him and apparently Liverpool were interested in him back in 2014, would that not tie in with Brendan Rodgers reign? Potential lazy journalism?

4.) 21 Jan 2017 00:23:27
Gus you will be headhunted for the DR at this rate

Where area do the gb sit at hampden?

08 Apr 2018 17:21:33
Would love to see us set us like this next week.

Gordon/ Bain
Ajer boyata jozo
Forrest broony armstrong kt
Moussa Griffths.

1.) 08 Apr 2018 17:50:29
Wouldn't go three at the back against them. Their strongest area is their wide men.

2.) 08 Apr 2018 17:53:51
Not for me. This 3-5-2 has been the start of our poor performances for me. I'd play Gordon, Lustig, Ajer, Boyata, KT, Brown, Armstrong, McGregor, Sinclair, Roberts and Griffiths
Was a toss up between McGregor and Rogic but I'd keep Rogic so we have some magic from the bench if needed.

3.) 08 Apr 2018 18:17:41
4-5-1 next week for me. We have the pace to nullify them wide and get forward quickly. lot of thinking required for the line up i think.

4.) 08 Apr 2018 18:27:28
I think it will be along the lines of.

Gordon/ Bain
Lustig, Ajer, Boyata, Tierney.
Brown, Armstrong.
Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair.

I think there's definitely a case for Roberts and Griffiths to start but I'm not sure if they're up to full match fitness after their injuries.
They aren't bad options though to bring on if things aren't going well.

5.) 08 Apr 2018 18:33:37
I'd go with

Hendry Ajer Simunovic Tierney

Brown Armstrong

Forrest Rogic Roberts

6.) 08 Apr 2018 19:33:37
Ntcham and McGregor must play both in for Rogic and Forrest in your team SP.

7.) 08 Apr 2018 19:50:52
I'm glad i ain't the Manager Sammy some big decisions to be made. Forgot about McGregor he has done nothing to warrant being dropped so should definitely start. Huge fan of Ntcham just feel Rogic is a big game player and can create something out of nothing.

8.) 08 Apr 2018 23:55:20
Brendan Rodgers has big decisions to make every week, but for next week the size of his task is made smaller by the fact that for maybe 7/ 8 decisions we have 2 players of about equal ability to pick from .

It could be at the end of the day B R 's biggest decision this week would be what day to eat the Yogart which has a sell by date Friday 13th.

9.) 09 Apr 2018 00:46:44
Bain, lustig, simunovic, ajer, Tierney, Roberts, Armstrong, rogic, brown, sinclair, dembele.

10.) 09 Apr 2018 12:39:28
Lustig Ajer Jozo Tierney
Brown Armstrong
Roberts Rogic Forrest

28 Jan 2018 15:11:32
Chelsea made 3 subs and musonda didn't even get on the pitch.

They brought on 2 other youngsters instead.

Lets see what tomorrow brings.

1.) 28 Jan 2018 15:37:26
Well he's halfway up the road he should just come up after the game.

2.) 28 Jan 2018 16:52:30
Think its done but on a loan not permanent. Looks a class act.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 23:52:55
seemingly he left the ground before the warm down.

26 Jan 2018 08:26:23
I think we are fine with what we've got for this season and only need a number 10.

My worry is going into the CL qualifiers next season. As it stands moussa and edouard will probably be away in the summer leaving us with one striker. Roberts will be back at city leaving us short of wingers again. Rogic will be at world cup and armstrongs contracts up so we need creative mids in. Lustig at world cup, big few months for ralston imo, we need to find out if he's good enough or if we need to try and buy a new rb.

If edouard has a blinder of a second half of season and we sign him and paddy then we won't be short. But to sign both of them will cost 15+ million, not going to happen.

Back to this season. Once paddy and rogic are back and if moussa stays they will play a major part in the season. They are all superb. We know what moussa is like on his day and he will get back to his best.

Ntcham and broony is definitely the way to go in cm. Calmac on the other hand needs to be dropped for a few games. I think defensively we are ok. If ralston comes in and we sign hendry then im happy with it.

A number 10 really is a priority, let's hope the behind the scene work is going to pay off, its seems to have worked for ntcham.

1.) 26 Jan 2018 09:35:22
Armstrong's contract isn't up in the summer. Did he not sign a contract extension?
I get what you are saying though, creatively our mid needs a serious makeover and the striker situation isn't going to be ideal come the summer I feel.
A Rb, Cb, and creative mid is a must before the window closes. I can't see dembele leaving in this window so I'd be surprised if a striker is brought in. A Gk is also a must in the next window but I feel using gordan for the qualifiers is the best way to go as playing a new Gk straight away could be disastrous.

2.) 26 Jan 2018 12:30:23
Potentially we could lose a lot of players by the summer:

Also think Gordon and Lustig need replaced, massive rebuilding could be required in the summer, no easy task replacing a lot of players and bedding them in for CL qualifiers, World Cup summer can make it more difficult should we target players who are participating.

3.) 26 Jan 2018 13:42:59
Yes many could go in the summer which is why we need to recruit now for the CL qualifiers.

A no 10 is essential. Yeah you are right Armstrong has another year, but his head was all over the place during preseason and we don't want the same thing happening again.

Really just hoping we pull a few wonder signings out the bag. There must be so many players in england who were like sinky, they need a celtic to revive their careers instead of rotting away down south.

I think jozo and boyata are good enough but just not been on it this season.

I think its safe to say craig gordon will be our number one for another season.

29 Nov 2017 23:23:00
Is it just me or have we been shocking this season.

We started off well and looked like we had strength in depth. Now we had 1 rb and 1 lb. Jozo and boyata don't seem anywhere near the level of last year due to carrying injuries. Armstrong not a goal threat anymore it seems. Sinky and paddy not playing well. Rogic for some reason not getting a game. Moussa injured.

Although we have been so poor and only good game i've seen us play was vs aberdeen away, we are still top of league, cup in the bag and chance of Europa (i reckon were in for a nervy one vs anderlecht) .

In saying that i've seen better celtic teams lose cup finals etc so i hope things can kick on now. We have a lot of games coming up so i hope we can pick up form before winter break.

1.) 30 Nov 2017 00:39:06
Injuries and a big invincible monkey on your back can do that to any team. We have been poor at times, been thumped a couple more. I think we have been brave as well, dug deep and won matches no matter what has been thrown at us.

{Ed007's Note - We just need to step it up a gear, we know this squad is capable of destroying any team in Scotland but we don't seem to be playing with the same intensity as we've seen.
The players themselves will know they've not been at their best and after the CL ends and the break until hopefully the EL starts for us we can get back into our rhythm and tighten our grip on our domestic domination.
I said on the live chat, whenever we go to Fir Park we either run riot or struggle to get anything, thankfully the ref made up for wrongly giving Motherwell the free-kick at their goal by rightly awarding our penalty - see these things do even themselves out over a season.}

2.) 30 Nov 2017 07:07:34
I think how teams are setting up against us this year is different to last year as well. There are times that some teams have all 11 of their player in and around the box. Making it hard to break them down.

3.) 30 Nov 2017 09:14:39
Don’t think shocking is the right word mate but we’ve been nowhere near the levels of last season! The goals have dried up from middle to front. sinclair and Armstrong were scoring for fun last season as was Griffith and Moussa but they really seem to be toiling just now! Every game is a grind at the moment and like ED says there’s no rhythm to our play! We need at settled 11 for a decent run of games but that hasn’t happened. not a worry by any means but I think we need to give someone a good beating soon to get back on track, starting with the mighty well on Saturday! Need to up the gears a bit now lads COYBIG.

4.) 30 Nov 2017 09:17:11
There is no doubt that there are goals right through this squad, but unfortunately although we are creating plenty chances (even when we are not at our best) , the composure, confidence and clinical finish is lacking and the possible factors have been covered above.
There is an incredibly busy schedule in December, including the Europa League decider and eight league games, so it is very possible we will not win all of these games going on current performances, but there is no doubting the fight, determination and effort being shown at present .
Unbeaten runs always come to an end and the eventual record will stand for longer than most of us ha ha. (just make the opponent and the result as bearable as possible)
The winter break will be a very welcome rest for the club, with time to heal and re-charge and there is absolutely no doubt that many of these guys have yet to peak and then watch us go in 2018.

5.) 30 Nov 2017 11:55:18
Think shocking is a bit harsh but as others have said we have been a shadow of ourselves compared to last season.

Think we need a couple of additions in January just to inject a new lease of life into squad and ensure there is constantly real competition for places. Couple of defenders (CB and full-back cover are a must) and also a winger who can play both sides - apart from Roberts, we don't have a silky player who can beat his man.

Nobody wants to lose the unbeaten run (certainly not me) but winning another treble and competing in Europa League is more important.

6.) 30 Nov 2017 12:24:54
The fact we can suffer a dip in form from a few players, not be at our best and yet remain unbeaten is a great sign of the strength of the team. For me, I want this run to end with an epic 6-5 loss to Aberdeen, Ryan Christie scoring all 6 just before he comes back, a result which knocks Sevco out of the European spots and into administration. If it has to end, that will do me.

7.) 30 Nov 2017 14:15:21
Maybe some of the players who have been playing week in - week out are getting a bit tired and stale? In my opinion once the unbeaten monkey's off the teams back then we should start seeing some of the fringers getting their development chance.

8.) 30 Nov 2017 15:01:09
I suspect that the early start to the season, coupled with a large number of games and short summer break has a major part to play in our performances this season.

After the winter break I suspect we will move out of second gear and let rip for the remainder of the season as we won't be playing as much games and have more time between games.

9.) 30 Nov 2017 22:29:33
I think we are unfortunate that we have shocking fans that are lmpossible to please and satisfy. Supporters like these are more likely to moan and write and shout abuse at our players and manager, than to support and encourage them .
We haven't been shocking at anytime this season but have been very consistent in domestic football and despite our heavy work load of matches we continue unbeatable.
Maybe the reason our players look tired is that K T, P R and M D among others are seen to be rubbing their eyes as evening K O's arn't over until after their bed time.

The fact mcclean can also help out at left back means he would get game time. He would play in goals if he could. The fight he gives when he plays for Ireland is unreal. He would give his all for us.

{Ed007's Note - I think some people under estimate McClean as a player.}

The next set of signings really are key. We need to start looking at proper replacements in attacking positions. Roberts musonda sinky rogic Armstrong all gone by next year. What do you guys think of McKenna at Aberdeen? Would complete our scottish back 4.

It it a slight worry that spurs and arsenal may be managerless and Brendan is perfect fit. Let's hope they go down a different route instead. If he does go then I'd happily take Big Lenny back as long as he brought mcginn and efe with him.

Rogic got on because he has magic feet. When he's fit he's our best player, probably right that we would struggle to keep hold of him tbh. I would still hate to see him go.

I agree with most of your comments, however I think to hit the next level we need a Rb, Rw in the summer. If we had same threat down the right as we do with kt it would help us alot. We struggled for goals this year and I think a new rb would help. Also we only have forest and sinky on wings and we've lost musonda and paddy - 2 wingers and a rb and id be happy. Cm we are fine (if Armstrong stays) cb im happy to go to ajer jozo boyata hendry.

Biggest signing of summer is rogic. If we can keep moussa, Armstrong and edouard then we don't need many signings.

A rb is such a priority, if we had the same threat going down the right then we will cause teams a lot more issues. I can see us sticking with ajer boyata hendry lustig as our cbs next season, but if we sell jozo we really need a proper cb in. Centre midfield is fine, if armstong goes then mcginn is ideal replacement. Wingers, we need 2, this is where we were so deadly last year with paddy and sinky. If rogic goes he needs replaced. If moussa goes he needs replaced. a lot of work needs done this summer. Players will usually stick around for 2-3 years so this summer's signings will potentially be here for 10. I reckon like ntcham we will get another 5million pound player from man city and maybe a loan signing as well.

Only two players who have been consistent all season are broony and Tiereny. Calmac has had his moments but i don't think he's been anywhere near consistent enough, on par with Forrest this season. We really need paddy signed this summer, I hope he starts getting a game now and Forrest has been off the boil for weeks now.

Totally agree mate. The next one is the most important on our way to 10 in a row.
Everyone is staying we need defenders but wingers are priority. Paddy Roberts just needs signed up, would be a massive statement.
I think buying mcginn is key as how is only replacement I can see for broony atm. Its worth the risk to see how he does.
This summer is a huge one. But we could keep Brendan, sign paddy and add quality. Fingers crossed.
