izaguirre about to leave celtic according to rodgers.

jamesbhoy67

1.) 18 Jul 2017 19:01:24
To some Saudi Arabian side apparently.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 19:06:18
Wow that would be a shame. Always loved Emilio.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 19:14:57
A true Bhoy. But got that awful injury who knows?

4.) 18 Jul 2017 20:27:52
If BR is happy to let Izzy go I would say he would be happy to let anybody go on the boundry of the first team, not a better squad player to call upon as a back up IMO.

5.) 18 Jul 2017 20:46:03
Assuming it's true, what s our youth lb set up. Can we promote from within or who in the spfl can we bring in to do a job.
We are clearly not going to replace kt but need a good understudy.

6.) 18 Jul 2017 21:06:08
Calvin Miller.

We are ok.

7.) 18 Jul 2017 21:21:25
Calvin Miller is never a left back and won't ever be in my opinion.

8.) 18 Jul 2017 21:31:52
Kelhellar was our best reserve LB IMO and he away to Oxford Utd, Could play @ CH too I think our best young player now is Tony Ralston (y)

9.) 18 Jul 2017 22:55:16
lawwell can't be trusted with not selling kt if one of they english clubs hold money under his nose on deadline day he'll take it, the same goes for dembele.

10.) 18 Jul 2017 23:25:37
what happened to the young aussie guy we were keeping tabs on last season jamie? i think like rogic he was coached by your uncle robbie im sure you said?

11.) 19 Jul 2017 02:37:58
If BR doesn't want KT sold, he won't be no matter what Lawwell says. Not if we don't have time to get a suitable replacement.

12.) 19 Jul 2017 10:47:21
jb67 I canny even remember that lads name mate lol

A remember him being converted from a winger to a CDM that's all sore we lost out on there goalie Ryan to Brighton for a freebie :- (.

13.) 19 Jul 2017 11:04:27
Good servant but couldn't cross the road nowadays!

14.) 19 Jul 2017 11:10:10
Riley McGree james/ jamie?

15.) 19 Jul 2017 11:40:47
That is the very man JT

Last thing we need right now is another midfielder (y)

16.) 19 Jul 2017 13:51:46
jon, you must have missed petrov, mcgeady, wanyama, van dijk, forster, hooper etc etc getting sold for allsorts of millions, if desmond and lawwell thinks it makes good business sense they would sell their granny, no matter who the manager is.

17.) 19 Jul 2017 13:53:10
thats who it was jt.

17 Jul 2017 23:08:15
rumours tonight that west brom have contacted celtic over armstrong.

jamesbhoy67

1.) 18 Jul 2017 00:10:13
So be it, if he wants to go and play for a dull mid table EPL side then let him. He will soon realise the error of his ways. Get a decent fee with sell on clause and reinvest. Good player who was made better by BR. Not the end of the world if he goes.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 06:27:50
Whilst I can understand him having ambitions elsewhere. West Brom must surely be a stepoing stone too then, because they really are dull.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 08:10:51
It's looking more like this lad is being motivated by money. What are West Brom, Bournemouth or Burnley ever going to do apart from get humped by teams week in, week out? He has a chance to be a star for a team that wins things. If he has any doubts, we should make his mind up for him and cash in. There are plenty more decent midfielders out there who would crawl through broken glass to play in the hoops. Sign up or get lost son!

4.) 18 Jul 2017 08:32:33
How is it no ambition? Go to West Brom, play well and then get a move to a bigger club. Look a VVD. Moved to Southampton and now about to go to Liverpool. Wanyama did it too. If you were offered 4x your current wages to move to another company and further your career would you not?

5.) 18 Jul 2017 09:27:00
I would like SA to stay, but if he wants to go so be it. He may find the grass is not always greener or he may kick on and do really well. I don't agree with some of the posts essentially slagging the boy off - the business model for celtic seems to be to offer players an opportunity to delevop and if they want to move on don't stand in there way. Just because he is Scottish and came from Utd doesn't mean he owes us anything and shouldn't follow a similar path to English or European players.
He was repeated played out of position in his first season and to my knowledge just cracked on with it, then he turned in a solid season with a good goals return under BR. All on modest (in comparison with our top earners) wages.
He is not a Celtic fan, but let's wish him well, cash in while we can and hope he promotes the club to other players in England.

He'll be missed but he's not irreplaceable and he hasn't done anything to warrant a slagging.

{Ed007's Note - The SA was being played out of position is a myth, he played on the left of the Dundee Utd midfield for most of his time there. The problem was he wasn't a winger, he was a left sided midfielder similar to Joe Ledley.}

6.) 18 Jul 2017 09:34:45
I for one hope it's true and we can put an end to this will he won't he crap! I couldn't give a toss who he goes to! Just aslong as we squeeze as much money out them as possible! And he's nowhere the player of a VVD or a wanyama! He'll go to one of the also rans down there and that will be it for him! Like I said, hope this is put to bed soon because it's boring now! Get him sold and move on! Ntcham mcgregor eboue benyu all ready to step in! And I hope one of them gets a chance 2morrow!

7.) 18 Jul 2017 23:17:24
Hope so 1 good season out of 3 flog him and move on wish him good luck but We Are Celtic.

8.) 18 Jul 2017 23:23:46
Lh86 why would any celtic fan want to see one of their best and most influential players go and be replaced by an inexperienced rookie. Cannot understand that for a minute, and how much to you think celtic would get for a player with less than 1 year left on his contract?

9.) 18 Jul 2017 23:54:23
Perhaps I'm just a romantic but if someone doesn't want to play for the shirt then I wouldn't keep him. The players who have inspired me over the years are those who have given everything for their team and didn't follow the money. These are not necessarily the best players but the players with the biggest hearts and give everything. I realize that this mentality is dying with the money available to players nowadays I think Celtic over the years have been blessed more than other teams by players who love Celtic and give everything so I wouldn't keep anyone in Armstrong's position if he does't want to stay. In saying this I will be sad to see Izzy go if the rumors are true.

10.) 18 Jul 2017 15:04:35
Fair point ed, do you reckon he is better than joe Ledley? I'm a big fan of SA but thought Joe was a cracking player. I like SA in the no.10 role but I think a fully fit 90 mins Rogic is a better option.

{Ed007's Note - That's a tough one because I thought Ledley was a top player for us but Armstrong is the best box to box, goal scoring midfielder we've had since Stan Perov.}

11.) 19 Jul 2017 13:42:31
I agree with what you are saying in that when a player says they want to go then you need to find a way of moving him on, but SA has never said he wants to leave, he is just trying to get the best deal possible and right now he is negotiating from a strong position having had a great season and also having 1 year left.

He probably looks at the squad and sees players earning 4 times what he does and doesn't play as well. I would imaging that he is looking to close that gap, and if Celtic don't offer him that then he will probably move on, IMO this whole saga is not about him signing a new deal but it's about how much Celtic want him and can afford to offer him.

17 Jul 2017 21:19:17
toure in talks with celtic for another 1 year contract, then a coaching position after it.

jamesbhoy67

1.) 18 Jul 2017 13:49:56
I got the impression from the article and BR's comments that it was more for a coaching role this season? Perhaps keeping himself fit enough to play if needed?

2.) 18 Jul 2017 18:32:46
i think that's what it is jt.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 19:56:01
Positive and negative on Toure front for me. (1) without him we wouldn't have qualified for CL at that time and (2) he shat in the nest twice and cost us the Man City game. On balance therefore a plus overall but time to go for me.

01 Jul 2017 23:30:27
charly musonda of chelsea is the man rodgers is after.

jamesbhoy67

1.) 02 Jul 2017 10:41:46
Going only on the YouTube footage available this kid looks the business, the tenacity, fitness and running power of Stuart Armstrong with the guile and ability of Scott Sinclair thrown in for good measure, even at £4.5m he could turn out to be a steal, let's hope we can get the deal done 🍀👍🏼.

2.) 02 Jul 2017 11:13:37
The way brendans talking the player whoever it is is real quality and gonny cost a few quid.

3.) 02 Jul 2017 12:07:51
Close to 5 million is a few quid.

4.) 02 Jul 2017 16:27:04
Its only a relative pukki balde bangura of a price tag. Not that severe really.

5.) 02 Jul 2017 16:30:05
5.3million is more than a few quid to us, no matter what kind of season we had or amount of money we made in 16/ 17! If this happens, then that to me is backing the manager.

6.) 02 Jul 2017 22:28:39
Is Carla Musunda a genuine target or are some people putting 2and 2 together and getting a transfer instead of 4.

7.) 02 Jul 2017 23:56:25
Don't know about Carla Musunda Chris but we're supposedly after Charly Musonda. 😉😉😉😉.

8.) 03 Jul 2017 00:47:57
who's carla? you need to get off the drink chris.

9.) 03 Jul 2017 13:16:05
seen him on utube and very little end product, not as gifted as roberts with the ball at his feet but looks faster, but is he what we need at this time as he is another for the future so what about the here and now this years champions league need player that are in their best years.

10.) 03 Jul 2017 15:18:16
Emerging that this may not be real according to BBC. They claim no contact between clubs. Time will tell.

{Ed007's Note - It's not like the BBC to be wrong is it? I know for a fact talks with Chelsea regarding Musonda began in January when the clubs met to discuss Dembele.}

11.) 03 Jul 2017 16:23:07
Ed do you think he will be part of the deal with dembele goes to Chelsea? Or do you think we'll have either dembele or this other guy but not both?

{Ed007's Note - As far as I know the deals are separate and it was just while Celtic had Chelsea's ear they brought Musonda up. As I said yesterday though Chelsea would rather it was a loan deal as they still think the player has a future there - the player, like Dembele was, is more concerned about game time and doesn't want to be a bit-part player for anyone.}

12.) 03 Jul 2017 19:11:07
So is the Charla Mosunda a rumour of substance, or a bit of imagination by someone laughing at our desperation .
It's great to sneer at an old man over a "h" .

13.) 04 Jul 2017 13:38:44
its not charla either chris its charly, its a banter site chris no one is sneering at anyone its called leg pulling, there's nobody nasty on here, just as well you don't come on the live chat regularly as we just constantly take the mickey out of each other.

14.) 05 Jul 2017 22:42:15
Jamesbhoy67 do you ever go off the drink? I hear you arn't very good at buying it either.

lukaku to manchester united, that will be dembele away to everton after the qualifiers then, desmond and lawwell will be rubbing their hands together at the prospect of getting more money that they will hoard and not spend.

jamesbhoy67

1.) 06 Jul 2017 12:33:39
Think maybe giroud will go to Everton mate and talk of Rooney to. while I'd love moussa to stay and hope he's here for at least another season, we can't knock back funny money for him. but I'd like to think Brendan would get a good chunk if he did leave to bring in a quality striker! But like u said with Lawell and Desmond it's hard to imagine that happening!

2.) 06 Jul 2017 15:49:47
Jamesbhoy67 . U do talk a lot of rubbish for a Celtic supporter . U may realise that Lawwell and Lawwell want Celtic to be successful on the field as much as we do. However they have a more difficult role to play.

3.) 06 Jul 2017 15:58:44
To be honest jb67, As soon as I seen the Lukaku move I thought that would be the natural moves too

But Yeah Giroud and Rooney bound so who knows mate? Another for ed though who piped up Rooney would end up @ Everton when we were making a lame case for us to go after him (y)

4.) 06 Jul 2017 20:24:44
chris these two clowns have held celtic back for years with their failure to invest, did you not see the empty stadium during the deila years because of it? these clowns have banked a fortune with the sales of ki wanyama forster van dijk hooper petrov etc etc and putting nothing back into investment in the team.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 18:24:56
Sorry I misjudged you Jamesbhoy67, I thought you were an ordinary Celtic supporter. I never realised until now that you must have knowledge working with transfer budgets and agent .
I as an ordinary fan have no idea how good The Celtic transfer managers are at their job . We can know with hindsight but any idiot would know that .

sinclair won player of the year, tierney young player of the year and rodgers manager of the year.

jamesbhoy67

1.) 08 May 2017 01:21:02
Dembele also got Goal of the season! To all the rest of you thanks for coming.

2.) 08 May 2017 05:12:22
When the nominations were announced, I thought MD was an absolute certainty - but when listening to the BBC Sportsound Podcast, they revealed that the players aren't actually told who is eligible/ of age, it's up to them to know, and that would have almost certainly counted against MD in the run up.

Not that KT didn't deserve it, especially as he missed 1/ 3rd through injury, I just thought it interesting!

3.) 08 May 2017 11:56:06
and dembele won goal of the year.

4.) 08 May 2017 17:30:46
And Jozo won tackle of the year!

27 Apr 2017 18:23:44
rodgers has just said that moussa could be fit for the final.

jamesbhoy67

12 Apr 2017 20:34:01
collum to ref semi final, we better train to play with 10 men now then.

jamesbhoy67

1.) 12 Apr 2017 21:51:20
Or 11 versus 12 in training! Collum without doubt is one of the most incompetent sorry exuse for a referee I've ever witnessed! But it still won't save them come 12 on the 23rd! Nothing and nobody will stop the treble!

2.) 12 Apr 2017 21:53:26
JB67, just because we're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get us brother! 👍☘️.

3.) 13 Apr 2017 07:42:09
Its worrying that when the referee for a Celtic game is announced there genuinely isn't one ref who I'd prefer was doing it. There must be a way of training games better.

I'd say Clancy is about the most clueless, so possibly the fairest as he's usualmy bad for both teams!

4.) 13 Apr 2017 11:33:57
this is a clown who gives them penalties when he's looking the other way and didn't even see it happening, he's a soup taker into the bargain there's nothing worse than a turncoat jfp.

5.) 13 Apr 2017 21:20:40
We did beat them 5-1 when he refereed the last time he was in charge. Maybe he can be a gd luck charm 😂.

the guy is a clown. he panders down to that huns time after time, and wheres these top players you are talking about? they sit on a fortune year after year and lay out next to nothing on players, and has sat back and been complicit in sevcos cheating, who cares who the manager is at the end of the day he is just an employee of the fans.
