Souttar would be a squad player at best. He is not good enough and if sec do get him then I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. You also have to take his injury record into account. the lad has suffered a few serious ones and well done to him for coming back, but, for me, it puts a question mark over his overall fitness.

All this talk of players from European markets is a bit more difficult now because of brexit. Previously EU players could move freely within the single market, not the case now, and we are left on the outside looking in.

If eddy wants to stay and show the new manager what he can do then that’s fine by me. 9m for 4 or 5 years service isn’t a bad return. There’s also the chance he will be wanting to put himself in the shop window so to speak, so his agent can strike a better deal for him. Again we benefit. That said, if his attitude is like last season then punt him.

Buzz Bomb, reading your post above, that's exactly the role Lennon did for MON's team. And like you say, it was acceptable back then, so lennon rarely got pulled up for it, and, to their credit, opposition players rarely got bothered by it and just accepted it as part of the game. Like you say, its being forced out of the modern game in favour of the attacker.
