Media in London saying Tierney wants move apparently.

1.) 23 Jun 2019 07:57:54
Huw would they know if he goes it should be for top dollar.

2.) 23 Jun 2019 10:15:35
I was in London last night guys and was speaking with an Arsenal board member. Didn’t give me any details at all but just said that if Tierney wasn’t an Arsenal player by the end of this week he would be very surprised. Only passing on what he said.

3.) 23 Jun 2019 10:18:55
If it’s true we should hold out for at least 25-30 million. when you got defenders like walker and stones going for 45 plus.

4.) 23 Jun 2019 11:35:19
30m, a sell on % and a couple of their young players as a sweetener. Bielik, Reiss Nelson, Smith Rowe and Saka look like very good young players. No way should we be looking for any less than this with the money being quoted in the EPl.

5.) 23 Jun 2019 12:13:54
He will be away for £20m plus sell on clause be end of week.

6.) 23 Jun 2019 13:32:43
20 million my arse. If the club sell him for that someone should get the door for it. McKenna is quoted at 10 million for God sake and Maguire 70 million! At least 25 to 30 min in the current market and add ons on top.

Celtic have been known for as long as I can remember as having a strict policy of doing business behind closed doors.

Clubs negotiating with us will be well aware of that, so why did Motherwell go public?

I think Turnbull agents (same ones Stuart Armstrong has and look what happened there) have advised Motherwell to go public to induce an English team to come in with a higher bid and bigger salary for Turnbull which leads to bigger commission for Agents.

As much as I think Turnbull is a good player, I would rather see club pull the plug and not deal with these Agents again no matter who player is.

1.) 15 Jun 2019 08:21:31
To be fair agents have to do what's right for their players, however I would honestly prefer the club move on and cut ties with the deal. If the player was demanding more game time or if it was money, I couldn’t care less. As far as I’m concerned the player has earned his move, he was offered a substantial wage rise, now if he wants more game time and more money, he has to earn that, once he's in the door. If not, he's not the kind of player I want to be at Celtic park. To be honest I liked Armstrong on the pitch but all the carry on with his contract meant he was purely at our club for the money, there was a coldness there, not criticising him, just stating how I felt. I want players who are here for the honour of playing for such a prestigious club and to be part of the family. Each to their own and good luck to the boy, just not for us.

2.) 15 Jun 2019 08:20:11
I don't remember anything untoward happening with Armstrong.

3.) 15 Jun 2019 09:25:51
Am with u on that one phil.

4.) 15 Jun 2019 11:34:36
Kevbhoy his agent messed about hawking him all over England. When they couldn't find a club he'd only extend his contract for a season.

5.) 15 Jun 2019 12:43:56
That's right enough Kev. I forgot about that.

6.) 15 Jun 2019 21:28:29
Whilst I said agents have to do what's right for their clients, I don’t believe Mr Gillis is, I think he’s enjoying the heights of the job, acting like Billy big baws, something he couldn’t achieve as a player. He done better than me as a player right enough, but I’m still grounded and am proud to earned everything I have. Something that appears to be lost here! Seen a pic of Ross McCormack sleeping off a hangover the other day, maybe young Turnbell fancies that sort of career, chasing the £’s rather than the medals. As I said earlier, move on, I don’t want to see loads of youngersters getting his name on their new strips, if that’s the way he is. Would certainly avoid Prolegal in the future!

26 Feb 2019 15:52:47
Anyone else heard mourinho?

1.) 26 Feb 2019 15:57:47
What a turn around that would be 😂.

2.) 26 Feb 2019 15:59:12
Id take him.

3.) 26 Feb 2019 16:05:45
Bring the king home 🍀.

4.) 26 Feb 2019 16:19:48
More chance of Solskjaer if he doesn't get the Man U job at the end of the season?

5.) 26 Feb 2019 22:29:56
Not Mouruniho for me horrible watching his teams how they set up and play. Marco Rose would be amazing imo.

6.) 26 Feb 2019 23:04:58
Murinho after the UEFA cup final vs Porto? We wouldn't have been happy with that appointment at his prime.

Clarke has earned a crack at it the hard way.
Rafa is the European expert and available and why not?
Lennon will endear himself with us all within 6 weeks.
What about Ranieri? I think that's who I'd like most. Sort of in the Tommy Burns mode.

7.) 27 Feb 2019 07:18:50
Ranieri! Yes! Dilly ding dilly dong!

8.) 28 Feb 2019 11:33:27
Larsson Hartson Sutton oh and Kennedy lol dream team for ten in a row.

05 Jan 2019 20:39:53
There has been too many incidents over past few years involving Beaton. He is incompetent and a cheat. There is no way even an amature league referee would think even 1 of the incidents in question was legit.

Hearing rumours he used to have a season ticket at Castle grey skull. Hopefully he gets his wings clipped for game and sent down a few leagues.

1.) 06 Jan 2019 12:18:40
Royjac the board post our finances at AGMs etc. Go read it for yourself. £45mil.

Also people saying rangers signings won't win them the league

Or AEK we should have had enough to beat them.

Why are rangers the benchmark? They are terrible. We have no choice but to aim higher now.

Higher than the likes or rangers and AEK. This whole happy to scrape by is exactly the problem.

About time we tried to match our potential as a club.

If Tierney goes then good luck to him. Has a bright future ahead, he should aim higher than Arsenal though. Club should set an example and hold out for a lot more than £25m. Too many clubs picking star players up on cheap.

1.) 23 Jun 2019 07:04:11
Behave mate eh?

25million isn't cheap for a Celtic player. Christ almighty.

2.) 23 Jun 2019 07:21:43
Given van Dijk and Wanyama had to go to Southampton before moving on to a bigger club, I’d say its pretty impressive if KT goes straight to Arsenal from us. I’m not sure he could get any better than that. They are a huge club.

3.) 23 Jun 2019 07:44:57
Spurs or Chelsea better options in London, but he could play for any big team.
These teams can pay mega bucks so we should not take any less than £30m.
He'll be worth double that in two years.

4.) 23 Jun 2019 09:31:46
The media are pushing for the move, saying KT wants to go. I would be surprised if KT would even consider leaving before 10 in a row because he would be still only about 23 and will have plenty of opportunities in the future, if that's the road he eventually want to go down.
I never bought into Brendan was a die hard Celtic fan because his first team was Sheff Wed but we all know for 100 percent that KT is one of our own and we need guys like him for these next couple of seasons.
Celtic should come out and say he is not for sale at any price, the same as they have done with Calmac and I hope KT comes out and tells his own people that he is going nowhere until he brings home 10 in a row. HH.

5.) 23 Jun 2019 09:49:43
Half the problem with these situations are the hun-media are desperate for us to sell our best players and deplete our team, so they go full-pelt with the speculation, false quotes and fake news.
Of course there is also a Celtic Board that are in the habit of at least one big sale every summer, but I would like to hear directly from the player - who's Celtic-daft - on how he honestly feels?
A statement of intent to stay, would be better than a huge new signing and possibly have a knock-on effect with Cal-Mac and JF etc.
If he does leave? If you thought the Dembele transfer affected a player or two - then watch the reaction of other heads turning.

6.) 23 Jun 2019 09:45:19
Leon I 100% agree with you . The thing that worries me is I why the club put out a not for sale sign on Calmac and not on Tierney . I hate to say it but I get the feeling his head has been turned and wants to leave . I’m gutted by this as wanted him to be here for ten, and we all know the money won’t be reinvested . Be lucky if we are given 10 out of the 25.

20 Jun 2019 01:45:59
Just noticed Bayo finished 3rd top goalscorer in Slovak league this season even although we signed him in January lol

He has been unlucky since he signed, can see him making an impact after a run of a few games.

17 Jun 2019 20:00:25
We should walk away from Turnbull deal and look at Matus Bero. Plays for Vitesse played 32 games 9 goals.

1.) 17 Jun 2019 20:27:35
Good shout and a good player, for me Jordy Clasie is one that would improve us and would cost around £6m I think

jake salter would be a good centre back if we could get him in, as long as wee don’t sign Mathews at right back I don’t think we would be getting the old Mathews back, Bart nieuwkoop at right back would be worth a shout probably around the £2-3m mark, or Ricardo van rhijn.

2.) 17 Jun 2019 20:51:51
I’d add Jairo riedewald to list of good cb we could pinch cost palace 7m but hasn’t played a lot still only 22 and 5 Dutch caps, just realised van rhijn is out of contract so he would be a bargain in my opinion.

26 May 2019 01:09:03
Hopefully Lennon has a transfer frenzy over next few weeks. I never thought he would get job, but I reckon he knew he had job as far back as September last year. Good luck Neil, hope you do well.

1.) 26 May 2019 05:57:43
Well the board can start with the 9m we got for Brexit. Then they can finally chip into the 20m up front we got for Moussa. Then they can add a bit more. Hey one can dream.

25 May 2019 21:31:07
Hopefully Lennon pushes compost heap (commper) out door.

1.) 25 May 2019 23:02:42
Lennon will work with whoever PL tells him to.

2.) 26 May 2019 00:07:59
Isleofgreen it was cringeworthy seeing him join in league title celebrations.

Burke had a couple of good games but overall was poor. West Brom are living on another planet if they think because a player cost 15m he automatically gets game.

Calvacanti I've witnessed some absolute howling statements on this forum, but this one takes the biscuit! So because Celtic are a football club, normal PLC operations do not apply?

You are oblivious to the fact that shareholders don't work. They have built their wealth on networking through business contacts. Contacts that will have assisted the growth of business side of club. This includes football contacts and most likely pipelines between our club and others will have been established through shareholders!

I'm beginning to think Tierney is away this window. Not much has been said from club to say otherwise. If he does go I hope club pushes boat out and uses funds to bring a rock solid CB in, obviously a good LB to replace Tierney, Ankersen RB and if rumours are true bergovic GK.

A striker in on loan to give Bayo a chance to show what he can do and we are laughing.

15m is a joke especially since apart from last season, we regularly compete at higher level than Arsenal in CL group stages.

Pud I think the only reason they were not replaced was because board knew Rodgers was leaving and they held back to fund new manager. Gamble which was far too risky for my liking. Hope board make things right.

Jonace I agree. There's mid level teams in EPL that we would run all over, playing similar EPL teams and their players are valued £30m plus. We play teams in CL like Man City, Dembele plays a blinder and yet we fight for £20m. Year later he worth £50m? We are getting urine taken out of us! Need to start digging heels in and basing valuation on European performances as half the teams we play and have done well against would destroy these mid table EPL teams yet their players are apparently worth more.

Apparently fake news which is a relief. £5m buys a far better CB than McKenna.
