Folks keep posting that we will take the 'Cheap Option' but were MON Strachan BR Ange BR again then MON all cheap?
Agreed Ronne and Lennon were cheap - but we don't always go cheap.

Folk just post "cheap" to suit their agenda. Surely the better value for money we get the better!

When DD gets annoyed he seems to go that extra step and gets a good manager and DD seems very annoyed.

As far as I remember MON was a very high profile manager when we tempted him away from Leicester and Gordon Strachan was seen as a cheap option in comparison. Because he was brought in on a much smaller budget compared to MON and worked wonders within tighter financial restraints during a transition of wage cutting recruitment. Brendan Rodgers was another high profile managerial appointment - with the fanfare of a packed stadium to welcome him, whereas AP was an unknown quantity to many people in the UK and I have no info on the comparison in salary and spending between them both.

So you could say we don't always go cheap. However, I reckon the lack of faith and trust in the current Board have made supporters very wary of their recent failings, raising doubts about their priorities and ambition for the club.

This millennium- I think the only compensation Celtic have paid was for Tony Mowbray and Ronnie Deila because both still had contracts with other clubs.

MON left Leicester when his contract expired.
WGS was unemployed for 16 months before the Celtic job.
Celtic paid WBA £2M compensation for Mowbray in 2009.
Lenny was the Celtic reserve coach in 2010 when he took over from Tony.

Ronnie still had 2 years left with his Norwegian club but I don't know how much compensation Celtic paid.
Brendan was unemployed when he joined Celtic in 2016.
Lenny lost his job after being suspended by Hibs in 2019.
I'm not sure about Ange if his Japanese contract had expired.
Brendan was again unemployed when Celtic hired him again.

Celtic also reportedly made £9M in compensation when BR and his backroom staff left and went to Leicester City.

I bet Desmond is not as annoyed as me. ?.

Buzz I'm sure Ange was still contracted with Yokohama. I remember them losing a cup game to some lower tier team and the SMSM kind of ridiculing him being on his way to Celtic after losing to an amateur side.

Oh I bet he is WJ and that's why he released that statement blasting BR.
I'm also betting that most people on here get a total surprise when we name our new manager and what we do in the January transfer window.
