Looks like St Mirren game will be off tomorrow.

Tbhoy

1.) 21 Dec 2021 18:22:55
At Mirren have officially requested postponement.

2.) 21 Dec 2021 18:58:08
Games off a believe.

3.) 21 Dec 2021 19:17:25
Game is going ahead a wee bit suprised by that.

Hjelde gone to Leeds.

Tbhoy

1.) 11 Aug 2021 22:16:01
That's a shame bhoy was a huge talent.

2.) 11 Aug 2021 22:23:59
No1 bigger than the club head was turned. I think Ange will commit to youth if he sees fit to.

3.) 12 Aug 2021 06:44:22
Although disappointing I honestly think Murray is better and going by pre season and the euro games so does ange.

4.) 12 Aug 2021 09:19:19
Sore one to lose another young talent, hopefully we have a decent sell on clause in the contract.

5.) 12 Aug 2021 15:47:28
Was at Celtic b game last night and big boy Lawal who we got from Watford was outstanding and he is only 18 and Luca Connell really did stand out! But I’d be disappointed if lawal wasn’t training with first team!

Looks like starfelt is definitely already in the UK. Snap from his Insta looks like a hotel and has a bottle of "Harrogate" mineral water. Don't think that would export much to Russia.

I'm guessing we have got him here to quarantine and waiting on work visa to announce. I believe all EU arrivals now need work permit since Brexit?

Think I have went to sleep and woke up in 2012. Jordan Rhodes linked. Assume the media are going for throw enough and something will stick.

Ed, do you think the 2 boys from city are being considered for one or the other or to sign both. Did notice that itakura seems to play a decent amount as a CDM too?

Tbhoy

{Ed037's Note - I spoke about them earlier today Tbhoy, Celtic were interested in both last season. There's been rumours circling around again this transfer window. Don't see them being part of the man city team while Pep is there. Mark Lawell I think will definitely looking at both these players and I think he'd be able to persuade both players to make the move to Celtic. Itakura is a versatile player can play CB and CDM. Played mostly for Schalka at CDM last season on loan. I think myself Celtic fans should be keeping a close eye on both of these players if I'm being honest.
Also I saw a post earlier about one poster being worried about Itakura being to light weight The Japanese players Celtic have are holding their with Celtic and he played in Germany last season who have big strong players in the German leagues

1.) 26 May 2022 06:11:20
The boy bellis looks a player. Assume it would be a loan but would be very exciting if permanent not many CBS have played the amount of games at the level he has played having just turned 20. Played regukar Blackburn, Anderlecht and stoke since he was 18/ 18.

2.) 26 May 2022 06:04:32
Thanks Ed. Yeah I’m sure itakura is 6ft 2 or something so he’s know lightweight. Although I think Chris Jhulliam is 6ft 4 and seems to spend half the game on the deck.

{Ed037's Note - he will be a lot stronger on the ball than Julian. I wouldn't see having a problem with the physical side of the Scottish game.

09 May 2022 23:10:26
David Marshall?

Should we be bringing him home. Not ahead of JH obviously but I'd have him ahead of Bain all day IMO.

Tbhoy

{Ed007's Note - Bring him home? He's been in England that long he probably sounds like Danny Dyer! :-)

1.) 09 May 2022 23:43:18
Marshall is 37 now and he’s only played about a dozen games this season.
His career will start to wind down now in the English lower leagues.
I would try and bring in the younger Dundee Utd keeper.
I think he might be out of contract soon and it wouldn’t be much if a gamble.

2.) 10 May 2022 00:03:37
One of our challenges Buzz is homegrown players and association trained players. So if we let Bain go and brought in Siegrist for example we could only have a 24 man champions league squad as Bain is association trained. We need 4 HG and 4 AT players
At present we have

Bain - AT
Welsh - HG (is currently b squad but will be HG next season
Taylor - AT
Ralston - HG
McGregor - HG
McCarthy - AT
Turnbull - AT
Forrest - HG
Johnston - HG

That makes 9 but I can’t see us keeping Johnstone and Forrest after this season think we’ll keep one but not both.

We definitely have a bit of a weak point here how many on that list would you be comfortable playing in the champions league. Ed’s mention Lewis Ferguson a few times but there’s not much Scottish talent about we can reasonably afford just now. Not getting Hickey and losing a few like hjelde and other young players is giving us an uphill struggle for the euro squads.

3.) 10 May 2022 00:17:40
It looks like David Marshall could be signing for Hibs.
A good move for both parties.

4.) 10 May 2022 02:10:31
I think we need to replace Hart, half the time I think he's in a different time zone the way he dithers with the ball.

5.) 10 May 2022 11:21:41
Joe Hart has a 56% clean sheet record for Celtic, I think he is doing well for us. HH.

6.) 10 May 2022 13:48:23
Not disputing that Glasgow green however his ability with the ball at his feet has been more than questionable more than once.

7.) 10 May 2022 16:37:36
Well Thank God for this, David Marshall has agreed to join Hibs at the end of season. He short term deal at Queens Park Rangers will come to an end and will join Hibs on the first of July. He will compete for the number one Jersey. I really don't see the Goalkeeper situation as a matter of urgency. Young Tobi will be ina round the first team next season. I'd get rid of Hazard and Barkas. And I'd be happy with Hart, Tobi and Bain. Why do we want to bring in another Goalkeeper and make the same mistakes as the past and damage a young top Goalkeeper like Tobi progress. If there's an injury to Hart, I'd be more than happy for Tobi to fill in. The guy is a top Goalkeeper and recently called up to the England U21 squad as new N1. Clubs down south have been sniffing ard him all season. And if you bring in another Goalkeeper I'm afraid we will lose another top young talent. He is a future number 1 and is working closely with Hart and Woods at the moment.

Just looking at the table.

Celtic have played 14 home games and conceded just 4 goals at home in the league this season.

I think that's remarkable. Having kept 11 clean sheets only Dundee (2) , Dundee Utd and Aberdeen the only teams to breach the paradise fortress this season.

Scoring 44 goals at home gives us a home goal per game average of 3.14.

What a difference with the fans back!

Tbhoy

1.) 10 Apr 2022 09:27:38
Yip, the year of the league win that no one witnessed is almost over. ?.

2.) 10 Apr 2022 10:37:51
And a good manager on top of his game.

3.) 10 Apr 2022 11:25:58
No question the support make a huge difference to Celtic, but most of the credit must go to the manager and players who have completely turned us around from the disaster of last season. Whether supporters would have made a difference to Celtic last term is possible but unlikely, due to the underlying problems and self inflicted damage.

4.) 10 Apr 2022 11:42:07
Said to my sons after st mirren game if we beat livingston we will win league looks like I might be correct HH.

5.) 10 Apr 2022 16:15:03
I felt like tide was turning when the Hearts penalty rolled across the line at Tynecastle in January.

6.) 11 Apr 2022 00:06:42
In our wildest dreams at the start of the season, could any Celtic supporter envisage the sublime joy of the situation today? in all my years of following Celtic the recent game against "them" and considering all the pressure around the fixture, in my humble opinion, was one of the bravest displays ever by a Celtic 11 (plus subs)

14 Mar 2022 22:25:44
Interesting fact. 1/ 3 of our confirmed remaining games are against the sevvies.

Tbhoy

1.) 14 Mar 2022 23:00:53
That’s 30 domestic games undefeated and it will be another Celtic Treble, if we manage to make it 40 domestic games undefeated on May 21st at Hampden Park.

18 Feb 2022 08:27:33
Buzz can you check my home work but I make it out that in the last 2 seasons in Europe Celtic have played 23 games and conceded 46 goals. Keeping only 6 clean sheets.

That's an alarming statistic.

Tbhoy

1.) 18 Feb 2022 09:34:39
Tbhoy,
Your figures are correct.
But Celtic have also scored 45 European goals in 23 games.
We’ve definitely been the club to watch for Entertainment, with an average of 4 goals a game in the last 2 years of European football.
Celtic have only failed to score in ONE game in those 23 matches and that was our 4-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen and we missed several clear cut chances in that game.
Since Brendan left Celtic, we’ve scored in 18 out of 19 European away games.
The only exception was when Lenny played a weakened side away to Cluj because Celtic had already won the group and we lost 2-0.
Celtic have currently scored in 12 European away matches in a row and that’s our best record in 60 years of European football.

I think we may also see Kyogo play out wide or in behind at times too. Ange seems to love attacking players that can play many positions.

Ed, I don’t see how we can get rid of guys like McCarthy as much as he is miles down the pecking order we’re so shy of homegrown and association trained players for the CL we may need them around for another season or two.

Tbhoy

{Ed007's Note - Good point and another reason to be looking at Lewis Ferguson, T.}

{Ed007's Note - The lad from Man Utd? He seriously ain't all that and has hardly played any top level football.}

Pedro I must admit when we lost out on Hickey I was glad as I had seen him play for hearts a few times and just didn’t rate him.

Then when I seen him being touted for a £25m move to Arsenal or another pub league team I thought. How wrong was I.

But I manage to watch him for Scotland tonight and if he’s a £25m full back Juranovic is £100m and Ralston a cool £50m. I just can’t see it with this boy. He’s a decent player but not Celtic or Pub league quality imo.

I think a lot of average players can look like superstars in Italy as it’s a much slower game. But what do I know he might be the next Roberto Carlos.

Can’t believe anyone would want rid of Joe hart he’s been a revelation.

Maybe a wee revamp of the old Paddy McCourt song in order?

Tbhoy

{Ed007's Note - With the amount of songs out there with the word 'heart' in them surely we as a support can come up with a cracker of an original song for him - as long as any sing possible from Rod Stewart can NEVER be considered!}
