On a slightly different subject, bad enough having to put up with BFKB on the Sky coverage, but anyone else notice the blatant bias from Crocker on commentary?

He wets himself anytime they get anywhere near our box. He also had a few fly digs throughout the match. A comment at the start about being simply the best, then I recall a dig about AJ’s “handball” from the previous fixture.

My thoughts on the match, a sore one to take, feels like a defeat. Before the match I’d have taken a draw as it remains in our hands, as long as we don’t mess up.

Embarrassing they celebrated a draw with a lap of honour when we know for the title they needed to win .

Highlights just how terrified they are of us and their mentality when they are celebrating a draw in a game that was a must win for them!

Keepers was rubbishting himself the whole game. Maeda laughing as he knew he had tav pen in his back dancer. Only mental refereeing stopped them getting smashed.

What's the thoughts on Liam Scales getting a run at LB when the CBs return from injury?

We'll not know till we try. Worth a go he's got a good left foot.

2.) 04 Sep 2023 13:21:19
I think he must be better than Taylor just now.

3.) 04 Sep 2023 13:54:13
Steady,

he could be used to give Taylor/ LB position support in the short term.

As well as he did yesterday, I believe Celtic should bring someone in who's an upgrade on Taylor and that isn't Liam.

Not athletic enough to play on the over lap.

5.) 04 Sep 2023 14:46:04
he's worth a try Taylor isn't the quickest. and scales has the height to defend the back post.

Not quite panicking but becoming slightly concerned with the pace of our transfer business. I'm in the camp that we remain weaker than last season, with departures and declining gk.

Of the arrivals to date I think only Rocky is a genuine starter. The rest will have to prove themselves. Granted the swede is coming in, however that was out of necessity with CS leaving, and he will likely be backup.

Would like to see BR stamping his authority with 2-3 quality additions that can walk into the 1st team and improve us, particularly with CL in mind, where will will be punished big time.

We can't ignore the challenges facing us and I'd hate for us to become complacent. The majority of arrivals to date don't excite me and don't seem to be BR's.

A good and accurate post Steady.

If this transfer window has a underwhelming conclusion in 3 weeks time,
What is the outcome?

What role does our new Chairman have to play in a downsizing transfer window?

It's similar windows, we seen when Peter Lawell was more involved with Celtic.

It's looking more like, keeping the shareholders happy with bigger dividends, Again.

2.) 12 Aug 2023 11:39:16
I think that post relates to how a lot of us see things at present.

3.) 12 Aug 2023 11:59:09
Ange was promised things Brendan wasn’t Brendan wants to put himself back in pl shop window again and he knew Celtic would set him in good stead rodgers is a yes man and Peter lawell is still having a say in where money is spent.

4.) 12 Aug 2023 11:50:20
I’m still not to worried about marquee signings just yet. I don’t think we got Jota and ccv until late on in Anges first transfer window and they are up there with the best we go in from him.

5.) 12 Aug 2023 13:22:50
The only transfer, that is needed, and has been for a long time, is a new goalkeeper.

6.) 12 Aug 2023 18:57:16
For the greater part of last season at least Hart. was was one of our most consistent performers and the stats back that up . at the end of season in meaningless games Hart was not his usual self . This followed through pre- season and last Sunday Hart was still shaky. BR needs to assess very quickly whether he needs upgrade on Hart and get new goalie, if needed quickly.

Been a long time reader of the forum but 1st time posting as felt it was about time I added my tuppanceworth .

I think it's shambolic the way the club is currently going, we, the fans are being fleeced big time by the board. Every year we buy the season tickets, 3 x new strips, conventions, etc etc and yet when it comes to the transfer window we get the usual cr@p. PL's moto was constantly that we aim to come out of every transfer window stronger than when it started. I'd love to hear his thoughts on this window (& the previous 2-3) . Total amateur hour the way our club is conducting it's business. Here were are 2 weeks or so before the most important window in some time closes and total silence, at most we will scramble around for a few loan deals for a short term fix, rather than make a long terms statement. Yet when the window closes we will hear about how we tried, but failed to get a couple big deals over the line. We've known since February what's been required and the deals should have been in place.

This stems back to the McGinn deal, allowing that deal to collapse over a few hundred grand, yet we will waste millions on so called projects. McGinn is going to be a superstar yet our so-called professional lub had the biscuit tin mentality.

The amount of money wasted on the likes of Commper, Gamboa, Scepovic, Koassi, Hendry, Mulumba (the list will go on and on) - if only we had the balls sign a few 1st rtam ready platers for a big fee and wages rather than waste millions on squad players that makes no contribution. We've allowed Rangers back to the party when we really should have been out of sight with better planning, I really fear for this season because I'm not holding out much hope that we will get the right quality in on time, if we can't get deals done when the window has been open 3 months then what hope have we got getting 2,3 or 4 deals done in the next 2 weeks (except desperate loan deals)

For what it's worth I think Juian will come good. Boli, not so sure, perhaps if we bring in another 1st team ready left back then Boli will be pushed further up. I do feel for SS, his treatment has been awful and is far better than Morgan. We will miss his goals this season.

I'd like to see a 1st team ready LB, back-up RB, DCM (Wanyama) and a new GK.

Over to you PL

Rant over.

Good post buddy!

Ffs first time poster do you have anything positive to say. Treble treble. KT YOUTH RANK GOING TO ARSENAL for millions. I could go on. Celtic are always slow at the start they always wait till euro qualifiers are over they keep there transfer dealing internal the way it should be incase we get gazumped. Also the madia hate us including ex players the bitterness is shocking.
I know it's an opinion forum try and stay positive there. It's like nothing is gd coming from some Celtic fans yes we have been spoilt big time. Give it a couple of weeks.

3.) 20 Aug 2019 13:40:10
You are 100% correct, I posted very similar as my first post about 2 weeks ago and was shot down for it. You are pointing out the obvious. We are a seeker team by far this year and across the road are a stronger team. Lack of ambition and arrogance verging on neglectful behaviour from the board. It’s hard to have the positivity when you see what’s transpiring in front of us.
How can we expect Nick Hammond to come in and automatically identify targets who can handle the magnitude of pressure and also have the required level of talent. We need players of a level above reading and wba, no disrespect to his previous positions, but this is massively different! We need better quality witching a more restricted budget, hence the reason for it going quiet. The best way around it I see is to go big (edouard) -young, potential- or go home. HH.

4.) 20 Aug 2019 14:35:14
Good first post. 👏 Stating the obvious.

You can see why people are put off voicing their opinions.

Agree, officiating was shocking, however, if we put the earlier penalty away pattern of the game changes and we wouldn’t be talking about those VAR decisions . Only have ourselves to blame. Again.

Totally agree JFP. Can you imagine if we had our AGM in February, the suits would hear all about it. Instead they will be hiding until the summer.

So much for coming out of each window stronger than we started. Shambolic.

Cant see Rodgers hanging around and who would blame him.

I remember the original. I was there last night, I did enjoy it but I thought part 2 (89/ ‘23) was a bit rushed.
Enjoyed the Tommy Burns segment.
