We are likely to get a cb if BR wants one . I think we have 4 cb’s who could well be our centre backs for the upcoming season. I have been very impressed by what I have seen of Trusty and if Trusty can maintain his current form I would have every confidence in him and CCV as our two main cbs .
BR’s by his procession and attacking football demands an awful lot from his centre backs and I don’t think there are many available who aren’t already playing for top clubs in top 5 leagues .
I expect BR has given additional coaching to Trusty who looks a different player this summer, Scales and Murray and all 3 know and can play system along with CCV . My only doubt is how Trusty will stand up to the bully boy attackers some SPL teams have, these players foul cbs and are allowed to get away with it by SPL refs, hopefully Trusty’s new confidence will help him to overcome this despite the refs . In any case, there are very few cbs who play our style and who could cope any better with a constant fouling striker who is allowed to continuously foul by the Lodge refs .
I do expect another 2 or 3 new players in, without any first teamer leaving, it will be interesting to see what areas of the team Celtic improve.

I'm unsure what additional coaching you believe Trusty has received this pre season, but to have improved from the way he played on arriving at Celtic Park, to being a competent and reliable first choice CB, the coaching staff at Celtic must have picked up the phone and called in Maldini and Baresi ? ? ?

Think Trusty has done well too. Do you not think players can settle and improve Pedro? Loads of players have had a hard start and kick on to be class.
Off the pitch Trusty had a hard enough year, so hopefully things have settled and we are that in his game.

I’ve not been Trusty’s biggest fan but I’ve not written him off either. The one thing a fairly large transfer fee gets you as a player is a decent chance so I hope he steps up and dominates this season. It takes some players a bit of time to show their best and with the World Cup looming he should be very motivated.

Am with you Pedro, yes Trusty played well at wkend but didn't game before when he was getting thrown about, a hope the boy cums on well but not seen much yet so def need another CB especially with CCV not having a pre season he will take a while to get up to speed and Trusty n Scales in CL qualifier is a worry for me.

Pedro, i don’t know about you but God gave me two eyes ( I supplement them with glasses, ) for seeing things and I only manage to write or type with one hand, so I have confidence in my eyes to make sure I type what I have seen .
I know it is still pre-season and we can’t be certain that pre - season gives a correct report of the current strengths and weaknesses of our players.
All I can go with is what I am seeing and Trusty looks a different player from the hesitation, frightened looking player he was last season particularly when marking a physical striker .
The only worry I have is that Trusty will revert to last season’s nervous display when he comes up against a physical striker in SPL especially as refs tend to allow physical strikers playing against freedom to manhandle our defenders in whatever foul play they want without ref’s interference.
I hope that the more confident Trusty and more sure footed can handle the same robust striker better than last season.
