I am afraid to say that none of the young lads that have played the last few games look like they're going to make it to the first team and play regularly, certainly not 50-60 games
That being said we need to get them all playing at a higher level as almost all of them have outgrown the B-team level.
Now we have this new link up with queens park, we have several ex-employees managing in the Championship and Premiership in Lennon, Robson, Brown and McGinn. We should be getting the majority of these boy out on loan to see what they can do at that level and it gives the added bonus of helping these managers out.
Any that can't perform at they levels move on next summer.

I hope for all our young players sakes that BR isn’t going to base ability to play ist team football, on how these youngsters performed individually for 45 mins in their first and 2nd pre season games . . Most managers don’t pay much attention to match performance by anyone at this stage of the season, as players are all doing heavy training sessions 2 per day, and at least one on day of match.

Wee Dessie Rodgers repeatedly talks about young players needing to grab their chance in Pre-season. Add to that he sees them more than any of us and none of them get a proper sniff tells us all a story as well.

Kev So far this is only the very start of pre-season . Concentration is still heavy training, ball control and passing and various cues of ball is only beginning.
BR will be judging them more after this week.

The only youngster I think that has prepared properly for new season, is our 24 year old Japanese player Inamura, who I thought had a decent first touch when playing in Cork on Tuesday . Not only was his first touch good but he was very mobile and made himself available to receive the ball and quickly pass ball on .
I certainly didn’t see much of that attitude amongst our young players.
It was more as if many of them were coming off a couple of weeks sun, booze and birds holiday, rather than preparing for their pre season which is probably their most important period of the year.

I think we will kick ourselves in the future that we let young Alex Valle go. Barcelona letting him leave in summer.

I think Valle didn’t want to play for Celtic Permanently and I very much doubt if he would have signed for us to be understudy to KT.

I also felt he simply did not want to be in the city of culture which is glasgow. Perhaps the allure of champions league football was not enough against a backdrop of spl. We may never know.

How do you know he'll be an idea replaced? Especially people saying he's better as an number 10? Also we needed 2 wingers before selling Kuhn, so we will need 3 now.

No chance that 15 million is good enough for him. Not one player was better than him at CL level this season. There is also a lot of recent bias when it comes to maeda over him imo. Maeda wasn't setting the Heather oan fire first half of season mind. Kuhn was one of the main reasons we had stretched our lead in league, had won the League cup and had a good CL campaign. We are already short out wide and we'd be happy taking out out second best and second most dangerous player out the squad for that money. Mental imo.

Will be a massive lost and if it's only 15 million then we are getting out pants pulled down.
One of out top performers in the Champions league, our second most dangerous player last season.
Taking 36 goals out the team while we are already short in the wide areas.

I don't know why anyone gets so worked up about youth players anyway. I couldn't care less how many are in team as long as the team are winning. Ye great to see some make it but it's not that important to me. If the player is good enough he'll make it, if not he won't. Looking at what happens to the majorities career after leaving us shows they are not good enough for us.

We've known this for months. He refused a new contract and made his intention clear. Another that will most likely end up no higher than English championship if he doesn't fade away like most the others that have left recently.

Not a chance he will play more games than calmac, unless calmac has a serious injury. Rodgers is already talking about how KT will need to be managed due to his fitness issues.

Bobo had several offers to pay him money to leave but wanted every penny, which was his right but celtic were also right to refuse to pay him full whack for him to go elsewhere and make even more. That is not the reason he didn't play though, strachen didn't rate him, he wanted CBs that were better with the ball at their feet than bobo.
