It’s a good shout for future European away games but with 2 up front in a 3-5-2.

I don’t think we can play this formation for the full match on Tuesday because KT won’t play the full match.
If Trusty was fit we could bring him on for KT and put Scales to fullback which probably wouldn’t suit his style.

But now we would need to bring on young JSP for KT in his first game to allow us to play that system for the full match alongside Murray and CCV.
Plus all 3 would then be right footers.

It’s too risky for Tuesday because we don’t have the players.

I'd maybe find a place for McCowan. He always looks hungry and positive and likes to keep play further forward.

Engels is our highest priced player and BR should be looking at a system that suits him rather than the side-passing that we seem to play.

A bit controversial, I'd replace McGregor for McCowan and go 3-5-2 with Idah and Kenny/ Yamada as strikers. Calmac slows the play down too much and we need a goal or two on Tuesday as Kaimat are going to sit in even more, time waste and counter-attack. There needs to be total bombardment especially with a reserve keeper in their goals.

Agree with Buzz Bomb (the original Buzz Bomb) .

Stengo, I like McCowan but I've a few of our players, inc Idah, more effective off the bench.

Funny you mention the 352 Buzz as it was a staple formation for us at one point. I was watching old highlights of seasons gone by and this formation brought us a lot of chances, gave us a leathal attacking threat and allowed us to play the Celtic way. This formation will allow us to link up as there will be plenty of passing options. Great shout Buzz!

I'd like to see us play that system today Buzz difference for me would be Forrest for Ralston?.

Fancy Jock's advice may become decisive over there: we'll have to score one more than they do, and we could concede a couple on the counter. Don't see any need to run with 5 at the back.

We had excellent defenders and good wing backs in they days, was MONs formation for a while.

Young lad from Man City may be a real possibility…. And I’m not sure KT will play at all on the plastic pitch?

It's not plastic mate.

A 3-5-2 formation should be an option if our wingers are not producing.
I remember Celtic running riot domestically with that formation just before lockdown but then Lenny played it safe against Copenhagen and went back to a flat back 4 because a goalless draw would’ve been enough.
Safe to say we got beat.

This subject has been raised several times before simply because we do not have the quality and strength in depth to continue 4-3-3.
It would be common sense to do 3-5-2 or preferably IMO 4-4-1-1. However, our manager is far too stubborn and set in his ways and even though he can point to previous successes, we need to play to our (limited) strength and change formation and shape for certain games. Although, as I have pointed out before, BR doesn't even switch during games when we struggle - never mind starting matches.
Whether he is doing this to prove a point or is incapable of tactical variety I don;t know, but he has used different systems in the past.

Just Stubborn imo.
