HI everyone just thought I would give a wee update on myself and my great nephew
As most of you know I am recovering after a fairly big operation to remove a cancerous growth, so you can imagine my dismay when doctor told me they suspected I may have Prostate Cancer on top. So for two weeks I was on tenterhooks waiting on the blood tests and other tests results, thankfully, THANKFULLY, all my tests were negative, it was not my prostate causing me more problems. I could not have faced being diagnosed with TWO cancers.
But on saying that, I urge all the guys on here 50 and over to get their Prostate tested, better catching these things Early.
My nephew who is Autistic and non verbal is also getting help, the family were fighting to get him seen in person by a qualified doctor in this field.
We have now persuaded a doctor from CAMS (childrens adolosecent mental health services)
to examine my nephew in his own home as to take him to a hospital would have proved too stressful for both him and his mum.
Anyway I am away out to sell my Lucky White Heather lol.

Never had a prostate check before and I'm in my late 60s - 68 11/ 12s to be exact. Is it still the gloved finger test or has the test moved on from then?

But now blood tests and samples of your poo can be checked, less painful and less embarrassing also.
Guys honestly just make an appointment if you are worried in any way.

Cheers Tim - was always worried about that. If I don't let the missus interfere anywhere close to there then there's not a snowball's chance in hell a doc will either. If it's changed from this I'll probably give it a shout next time I see one.

You automatically get sent a letter and equipment for a poo sample when you hit 50 now, so no excuses. ?.

Good news Tim on 2 fronts. We pray for wisdom for the doctor to make recommendations for appropriate follow up referrals and consultations. ? I'm thinking of getting my prostate checked, think they call it a PSA blood test.
