So much pish flying about. Park the bus. Don't park the bus. Change formation. Blah blah. We were schooled. Why? Because we are not at that level. We could play a flying v formation. Wed still get pumped.

Exactly Gerry. We just need to accept we are not at that level but strive towards getting there.

We were beat because we have inferior players to dortmund. That part fair enough, that's obvious. No one is complaining about the loss.
However we were "pumped" because of brendan rodgers arrogance. Its the manner of the loss fans have give off about and rightly so.

Our 6-0 defeat last season was Ath. Madrid’s biggest European victory since their very 1st European match in 1958
( 65 years earlier )

Our 7-1 defeat to B Dortmund was their biggest European victory in 59 years.

It’s Brendan’s job to find a happy medium.
( compete without being embarrassed )

Unfortunately pragmatism doesn't always go hand in hand with supporting a football club.

We are not a CL level club nevermind having CL level players.

Our league is 2nd tier at best in European terms.

When you consider the current champions, Real Madrid, can offer a player a signing on fee that is greater than our entire squad, it puts it into perspective.

I don't like results like Tuesday night anymore than anyone else on here but we need to be realistic.

We are not anywhere near their level, but same said of past Celtic sides who competed much better and even got some brilliant results.
Obviously our quality has declined in recent years but when weaker teams in the SPL get decent results against us, they do so with hard graft, tactical awareness and good organization. We tend to freeze and start very nervously against in games like Dortmund and basic mistakes cost us every time. It's all about attitude, concentration and learning lessons from the manager - down.

Too many apologists for Rodgers. There is no excuse for these continued capitulations in Europe. Far Worse teams than us will go to Dortmund this year and come away with a far better result.

We buy Engels at £11m - we buy 11 players at £11m and it wouldn't mean a jot. Why? Because we play in a league more inferior to the teams in Europe we play. We have very little competition and the players are not being pushed. BR is the only one wh's pushing them but that's a different kettle of fish. We play 7 teams who are pretty much better than us - we need to play 15 - 20 European type games / friendlies etc to at least see some competition - not to get embarrassed like we did. Think it was BR who said we were spooked - no we weren't, we were sh! te.

I agree we are not anywhere near Dortmunds level, but surely going away and playing a team we know are superior to us and playing 4-3-3 is surely asking for trouble.

Rodgers has to have a plan B in big European games against these calibre of opponents.

Berlin just beat them, they were very lucky staying in that league this season, manager clearly had a way of playing them, Rogers has learnt nothing.
