Can you check that stat. Don't think a team can play a player if there is transfer pending. Don't they have to sell and leave themselves weaker for qualifiers. Not like the player is contracted to them and is on a contract worth millions. UEFA will probably investigate ????.

It’s probably just nonsense, but I was reading that a move for Mahmic was dependant on Hatate being sold. Surely that can not be part of the thought process when recruiting players. If we want a player bad enough and they are willing to come, do the deal. Hatate may well stay, but he clearly is not wanting to be at Celtic, so why would that have any bearing on the purchase of another player when you’re not likely to play Hatate anyway. We’ve sold 3 or 4 times the amount of players we have purchased this transfer window.
We should never be waiting on players to move on, before buying.
This is the time to strengthen the team and spend the money so that the team is in the best possible position to deal with three qualifying rounds next season, and to ensure we dominate the league for another season. Surely that is just common sense and nothing to do with money. Why wait till next summer to get the players in when they can be in now, and ready to hit those qualifiers running.

I think in the grand scheme of things we won't be signing extra midfielders if we have Reo turning his nose up at leagues, thinking he's too big to play in whilst thinking he can play in a top 5 league.
We can more than afford Mahmic but with this new recruiting model it'll be about downsizing the squad and wages and getting in that extra bit of quality in.
{Ed007's Note - The squad is needing downsized, we can't keep stockpiling mediocrity and just buying more players in, look at Ibrox for the downside of that.}

Absolutely Ed. Would still hope we can shift a few and get a few in even if they're loans than go back down that route of the whole squad bloating with project signings like we've done in the past. With PSR in place that makes that model unsustainable to a club like us now.
{Ed007's Note - ?? I'm still pretty confident we'l lmake some signings and maybe pad out the squad with a couple of loans when the English window closes - I guess the CL exit puts the Grealish rumours to bed ?
