He will do a job after a good pre-season, a good back up to replace Hatate in the squad.

Offered absolutely nothing in the run in. Had 5 months to get fit. Trained with Arsenal last pre season. He's done just more downsizing.

Without his goal contributions we don't win the league. But shows the ambition of the board. Now not to slate Ox as he's had a good career but he was a late panic signing after the window was shut.

He ain't getting any younger and a lot of games just seemed to pass by him. I'd have hoped his place would have gone to a new arrival. Going to be another long, nail-biting window.

Hi Ed, have you any info on what we was paying the Ox in wages? Only fee that seems to pop up is £55k. Surely that can't be right? And if he's extended his deal he would be on the same? Seems excessive for a bit part player who didn't impress.

I get that that only equates to £2.86m a season which isn't too much of an outlay when you think if we loaned a player you have a loan fee as well as wages on top.

{Ed007's Note - That £55k a week story has been going about since he came in mate, I didn't believe it then and I don't believe it now. When he signed I was told that the money wasn't a factor, it was more the chance to sign for a club Celtic's size/prestige with a chance to prove himself.
What I did notice was that when we signed him in January there was a years option to extend it, we never done that and that clause/option would have expired at the end of June and it's been reported he has signed a "new one year deal" so, imo, even if he was getting the 55k a week Celtic wouldn't have offered him that in any new deal. I'd say he's on £25k- £35k a week maybe even depending on if he's fit and plays.}

Thanks Ed. Either way those wages would probably still prove to be the financially cheaper outlay over a loan fee and decent wages to someone that we don't know what we're getting. If they're considerably lower then it's good all round.

{Ed007's Note - ???
