Alistair Johnston. Not his best game today but man he's turning into a celtic legend for me. Love the positivity he brings. Pass for the winner was lovely. His goal contributions are impressive and he's only improving. Man's always happy, love to see it, hopefully many more seasons to come for him on the hoops.

Agree Pablo??…. That’s second game in a row Engels has been nothIng like the £11m we paid for him.
2.) 06 Oct 2024 15:33:58
He's going to get enough scrutiny on the transfer fee without us joining in. He wasn't great today but neither were most.
3.) 06 Oct 2024 17:28:34
Easy to forget he’s only just turned 21.
4.) 06 Oct 2024 19:05:05
Hardly scrutiny mate… just stating a fact as I see it.

And that's fine but nobody else's price tag seems to get brought up much when other players perform badly. Didn't hear that Bernardo didn't look a £3m player or Kyogo didn't look a £5m player midweek.

With the window ticking down and no real worthy offer for MOR, what do you think our chances are he stays another season? I'd be delighted if he stayed, Brendan giving him captaincy throughout pre season suggests to me he doesn't want him to go, and Matt doesn't seem to be pushing for a move. Retaining his services for another season could be our best bit of transfer business this window. This signings of the 2 keepers looks to be a shrewd piece of business, hopefully a few more in come in now, but I'm optimistic as time dwindles on.
If however we sell Oriley, with the time left to find a suitable replacement, it will come back to bite us in the arse. Crazy how we operate so slow, especially with all the money we have in the bank.

I would be delighted to see MO’R line up against Sevco just after the window closes but it’s more in Hope for me.
I reckon that Celtic will eventually get an offer of £25M and it will be accepted.
Such an offer would need to come from a club in a much bigger league, so I’m guessing Matt might be interested.
It’s refreshing that Matt isn’t pushing for a move and that’s exactly the type of player with that attitude, we want to keep.
Maybe Matt is just happy to add to his medals haul at Celtic and get another shot at the CL.
2.) 02 Aug 2024 02:00:23
We can all hope, Fingers crossed.
3.) 02 Aug 2024 05:27:15
He is a bargain for 25 million.
4.) 02 Aug 2024 08:33:44
I honestly think he will be here until January and when we plays really well in the new CL he will have clubs falling over themselves to sign him.
5.) 02 Aug 2024 09:48:33
If he leaves Jonbhoy, it's either now or next summer. We can't let him leave in January assuming we're going for the league.
6.) 02 Aug 2024 10:00:25
Unfortunately I think Bernardo has been signed to replace MOR, much the same as Eddy was brought in to take over from Dembele.
Bernardo may turn out to be a great signing, but as I said yesterday losing MOR leaves a huge gap in our team with his goals/ assists, corners and even his significant defensive presence in our box.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Board are ready to sell as soon as what they think is an acceptable offer is made.

I think Brenardo is a long term replacement for Calmac and not MOR.

"You will be surprised by how long I am here" a quote from Ange that always stuck out in my head. Was he here for the long haul or was the Celtic job just a stepping stone to the Premier League?
Well safe to say the question has been answered today. The quote from late February if I believe, confirms in my opinion, the Celtic job was always a stepping stone to "bigger pastures. "
Disappointed he's gone and to Spurs of all teams. The main reason for Ange to pick Spurs, in my opinion is the challenge. Sure the Premier League brings a new challenge in itself but at Spurs the challenge is even bigger. Their managerial record and lack of trophies speak for itself. If Ange wins even the Carabao Cup or FA cup he'll gain legendary status, not just within the Tottenham support but football fans worldwide. His next managerial career move would be his choice.
I don't expect Ange to stay at Spurs long, I do expect him to be a success tho and wish him all the best. Disappointing he didn't stay longer, especially with another crack at the CL guaranteed next season.
With another 2/ 3 years at Celtic Ange would have become a legend of the club in my opinion. He'll go down in the history books for sure but will always be known for jumping ship at the first opportunity. I mean I get it, money, ambition, family, priorities that's all fine, he just wasn't a part of the Celtic family, that he made out to be.
He'll be missed but quickly forgotten about. To use his own motto, we never stop. I imagine the process is in motion for our new appointment, hopefully business done early. We're an attractive gig for any manager I'd say and it's ambitious but Potter is my number 1 pick. Champions League football might just be enough to lure him to Scotland. Hopefully we appoint in the next week or two and move on. We are Celtic football club. Scotland's most successful club. We never stop.
God bless Ange. Good luck.
HH.

I wouldn’t agree with God bless and good luck to Ange.

Few folk getting edgy about the board "penny pinching" what absolute nonsense! If that was the case why spend the amount they have on a new state of the art pitch and pricey lights display! Not to mention breaking the bank for French eddy! It's obvious the money is available for the right player, but the board, rightly so, won't pay over the odds as they've shown to Hibs with McGinn.

Nice to see Aberdeen improving facilities, finishing 2nd last few season has done them wonders! Huns will be raging!

Hi Ed, is kyogo actively looking to leave celtic this window? His recent change of management and you're recent comments on his new manager, have me thinking he wants a move?
{Ed007's Note - Kyogo isn't pushing for a move but like MOR if it happens it happens but if he doesn't move this summer - which I don't think will happen - then I expect him to definitely go next summer.}

I think we need to remember Ange has stated he wants a few from the J League, which can't happen until the January window. I'd say this window has been decent, I'd have like to have seen a proven quality CB added to the squad but it is what it is. If Kyogo can make up for Eddy in the goals department, which is looking promising, we'll have a better campaign than last.
25 Aug 2021 16:43:21
I'd prefer a move for Hibs, Nisbet, at least he's proven in the Scottish game.
04 Jul 2018 10:04:39
Good young prospect, gives us more depth to team if he joins, would like to see option to buy in contract if he joins, but think Liverpool see him as future first team player so doubt it.
03 Jul 2018 17:17:12
Everyone knows they got a cracking deal.

Sum41 absolute memories bud. Not sure where's the best place but, some say, don't go in too deep. I'm still waiting on a, fat lip. I mean, we're all to blame. We were a, walking disaster. No resaon. I was in over my head, in pieces. But for the best of me, I rise up, waiting on a twist of fate, screaming bloody murder. So just make sure you, open your eyes, before you make a, bad mistake. So long goodbye.

Gaz it's you're opinion man don't need to set the record straight for anyone.

Kasper for all he had to do was also fantastic. To see McGregor score was the icing on the cake, Brendans reaction was priceless to watch. really excited for the season ahead.

A few weeks a go we hadn't lost probably our most valuable asset, O'Riley. We also had a few weeks of the window left, now we're into days. A lot of folk will have changed their tune. I think it's great we've went in for the players mentioned and if we get them all, then on paper it's been a successful window. Quality in rather than usual prospect signings. If however we don't get them over the line in time then it's going to be a very underwhelming window to say the least. And the board will be to blame. Brendan would again be led to false promises. It's already starting to stink of "well we really tried to get them over the line, but selling clubs playing hard ball. We'll still be working hard in the background to hopefully strengthen in January. "
I really hope this isn't the case and we pay the price to get them all in, it's not as if we can't afford them and if reports are correct their more than happy to come to Celtic.
We sign Engles, Bogusz, Trusty and loan LB from Barcelona before the window slams shut, maybe a 3rd choice striker in their too. We start the league stronger than last season, in my opinion, and with already having signed a quality keeper, we'd have the potential to have a somewhat successful champions league campaign, especially with the new format. We live hope that the board pull through in the next 4 days.

Thursday nights are officially Sevco nights, according to their fans. "We play better on a Thursday night" Deluded FC spouting their usual nonsense. Heard fans have started a petition and the board have written a statement demanding champions League qualifiers be played on a Thursday night in the future.
