Derry spot on i want us to be going for a calibre of player that's capable of helping us to the next step and not just keep us competitive in Scotland lacks ambition for me. The lad Braga does look ok but i feel if he was facing a better Celtic team he wouldn't look as good and it wouldn't even be a conversation worth having.
A few boys in Scotland i like but he's not one of them. HH.

We signed Gary Hooper for £175k from the English lower leagues and he turned out ok! Just because players play in certain leagues or haven't had success elsewhere doesn't mean they won't turn out well for us.

A club celtics size should be trailing the likes of troy parrott, franculino, jonas wind. there's 3 off the top of my head. Our board have no ambition so unfortunately it will continue to be of the calibre you have mentioned.

It was £2.4m from Scunthorpe. He was one of the top scorers in the championship at the time for a poor team. This ST search will be tough, we may need to gamble on a goalscorer in a lesser league with one of them. As for an established ST we would need likely need to pay Idah money to please the fans which is unlikely with the surgery needing doung to this squad.
That will likely be the new managers task in the summer. I know I said about Bowie as an option but I was thinking the fee would be around the £3m mark not £6m+ he was playing for my local team Northampton a couple of seasons ago, £6m is silly money for what will be a 2nd choice ST imo.

I mention players within our budget you have just mentioned the likes of Dju and Parrott knowing fine well we have zero chance in getting them as they are well outwith our budget and try claim you mention a higher calibre of player but the board have no ambition to sign them.

Bamba looks decent Ed. Not quite worked out at Lorient for him but would score for fun for us. A guy that scores with headers too which we've lacked.

The 3 players i mentioned ARE within our budget but our board want you to believe different. We are sitting with nearly £100m in the bank so we could afford to buy the 3 players mentioned and have at least half that left over.
And don't give me that pish about FFP rules either.
We have the money sitting there, its there to be spent.
Fans like you with no ambition contributes to the club being held back as the board feed of this type of fan.
Aim for higher, you and the club deserves better.

Jeez am making the point that that's how much we have in our bank going stale.
Anyway i would rather spend 50m on 3 strikers than penny pinch like bringing back an injury prone dud in stephen welsh that's on loan because no one wanted him permanently.
Or shop in englands league 1 for a player that's got an average goals record at best.
