Welcome aboard. If he can replicate some of the stuff I've seen, for the price, he could be a good acquisition. This shouldn't be us done in the striker area though. It's very much a risk given his form lately.

The Japanese speed stats confirm that he’s faster than Maeda and Kyogo.
He’s worth the gamble and will probably replace Kenny and then we still need a proven prolific striker this summer.

From the YouTube clips he does look technically very sound. His passing, shooting, dribbling, heading abilities look pretty solid all round. Has a bit of dig about him too by the looks of it.

He was quicker than Maeda when Maeda played in Japan but since then Maeda has got quicker, but either way it’s great to have bags of pace up front, just wish we had same at back.

If Yamada is looking as being the main striker I can't see Idah hanging around, considering there's Osmand and Kenny amd Maeda who could play there. If we also get a proven goalscorer in then looks like we'll be top heavy.
{Ed007's Note - I think we can forget the idea of Maeda playing through the middle again unless there is a major injury crisis, Rodgers never wanted to do it and the way things are looking he's making sure he won't be forced into doing it again.
There will be another striker brought in and it'll be him, Idah & Yamada fighting it out to be Rodgers first choice for games, Kenny will likely go out on loan if he signs the new deal or be sold if he doesn't which leaves wee Donny Osmand, I'm not sure where he fits into the squad, maybe for the best if he goes out on loan, preferably to another SPFL team.}

Maeda’s best attribute isn’t his speed, if Yamada is quicker then superb but his style doesn’t seem to rely on pace. If he’s half the player Maeda is then he’s going to be brilliant.

I thought maeda said he wanted to play through the middle or he wouldn't sign a new contract, I am sure I read that a few weeks ago. So if that's true and we are actively looking for another cf then I think he might be for the off.
