Imo I don't think hearts, motherwell and Falkirk will have the same impact on the league this season as they did last.
Not only is it a rebuild at Celtic but also Rangers have another rebuild on there hands.
They have signed 6 and talk is of at least another 5 coming in.
As it stands our preseason is under way. MON has said he wants to use the time to give the system a tweak here and there.
But with 1 new face in and the return of the ox, with the world cup players not back yet really what impact can the changes he wants actually be put into practice.
That's why it's imperative that the signings get done ASAP.
Mon rambling on about the delay in the backroom staff is his fault and tbh makes absolutely no sense at all.
Hopefully he isn't going to to a mouth piece for the board when clearly it's the board that is holding the club back.
Not only do we know the players that are leaving, and just to stand still, they need replaced never mind the additions to add to the squad, this board have, as usual, been missing in action.
But should we be surprised.
Once again the supporters have dug deep and bought the season tickets, it's time for action from the club to act as if they care about the team as much as we do or we are in for another disruptive and potentially damaging season.
{Ed007's Note - With regards to the backroom staff stories, I think I'll take the word of MON over Celtic Twitter & sites that need stories to keep money coming in.}

The Celtic fans have dug deep but I don’t believe 99.5% of last seasons tickets were renewed because Celtic allow fans to change names of the season tickets to friends and family Etc.
It isn’t fair to the supporters who have been waiting on the list for many years but I can still understand you would rather sit beside someone you know.
It keeps the numbers up on the waiting list plus the 99.5% looks like everyone is behind the Board Etc and everything is rosy in their garden.
I just feel it’s a false narrative to suggest that only about 300 fans gave up their season books last season.

He is already a mouthpiece for the board JJ.

MON said one of the reason was him deciding if he was taking the job. Not the only reason. 100% Maloney wasn't happy what was offered. Compared to what he was on last year. All sorted now.
{Ed007's Note - And while people were writing and believing that Maloney and Fotheringham were both still on holidays with their families. Maloney still had a contract with Celtic as our pathways manager, Fotheringham's deal had expired.
Fotheringham was happy to sign on the same terms and Maloney had to negotiate a brand new contract for a brand new job that might only last a year, there was no falling outs, there was no truth to the "Maloney wasn't happy" stories, it was contract negotiations that were done & dusted in 4/5 days of them returning from holiday.}

Buzz wether the figure of 99.5% is true or not the season ticket sales were always going to sell. out. this idea of fans voting with there feet and giving up season tickets is fantasy stuff. yes there will be some that took that stand, but the majority would've renewed and what was left would've been taken by folk on the waiting list. why? Because fans buy those tickets to support the club. its by no means whatsoever in full backing of the board. and if things don't drastically improve on the signing front then this board will know all about it when the season officially returns. no one wants the protests of last season continuing into the upcoming season, but if things that the fans aren't happy with don't improve then its inevitable its going to happen. the improvement of the playing squad is no 1 on the list, but when are the fan media going to be given access again to the club? When is communication going to improve tenfold between the club and fans as was promised by Wilson? How long does it take to appoint a permanent Chairman? What is happening with the Director of Football position? Who's taking on Maloneys old job as pathway manager? Assuming that our mute CEO is going to remain given there's been nothing to suggest otherwise, is he going to comtinue in his role remaining silent other than the odd quote every 6 months or so whilst letting the OAPs around him speak on his behalf? Where's Ross Desmond and what role is he playing this year he'd plenty to say for himself and on behalf of his father last november and not a peep since.
What is the long term plan of the club? A club that we were basically told was out its depth in terms of European football with absolutely no ambition to do anything to change that mindset. just my opinion but signing 1 player to date with 30 odd days till the champions league qualifier which for me is thee most important qualifier we've faced in years given after this year we'll face 3 qualifiers likely unseeded, its imperative we do not balls this qualification up. so much work to be done yet seems very little is being done.

Good posts. A season will come, maybe this season, maybe not. when Rangers will win the league. I believe that will be the tipping point and thousands will stop buying STs in their droves.

It’s 100% that Maloney and Fozy were both low balled. It was an appalling way to treat to men who played a huge part in getting us over the line. The bad feeling it created is still there….

How do you know that lambo? I know for a fact that it is a lot of rubbish. Some fans just want to believe everything negative about out club.

Unless you were present during contract negotiations, any facts are hearsay, opinions, speculation.
Passing hearsay, opinions, speculation off as facts, well for one, it does nothing but spread disconntent. Why would you do that to a club you profess to support?
12 Jul 2026 15:24:57
DC totally agree. As Ed said SM already had a contract and MON was thinking about coming back, so as they were his guys the club had to wait until he made up his mind as another Manager may have wanted his own staff.
It's irrelevant in any case as they are back.
More importantly we need to get players in quickly as our first game in anger is 3 weeks away.
We were clearly lied to about players coming in quickly so that they could get up to speed with the Managers system and gel, and as per usual we are dragging our a***s, its embarrassing
Luckily for us sevco are getting in runner up freebies and ex player freebies, none of whom are any real concern should we get in the quality we need.

That simply isn't true ed. I know for a fact Maloney wasn't happy and it definitely took more than 4/ 5 days to be sorted out.
