Steve Clarke away!

And so he should be. Embarrassing when 3 out of 4 teams can qualify and you’re sitting at the bottom area of the best placed 3rd finish.
Watched Ecuador v Germany - that’s how you play when you want the best chance to qualify. You go for it.

Why did Clarke get a 4 year contract before the World Cup.?

We've missed a trick. If only we had held off for a few weeks and we'd have got a guy who would lead us into an exciting new era for Celtic ?.

Because the SFA is still run like a bowling club committee with a load of old guys in blazers a millennia behind the times. Hang on a minute, isn’t that Celtic?

Same guys that have regressed Scottish football for years now. TV deal is the best example of that. Countries the same size as us sometimes smaller, have substantially larger deals which benefit the clubs playing there. Same guys who can’t figure out why we can’t produce top talent.

I watched the Morocco and Brasil game both terrible performances and by all account Hati was much better
No pressing, no attacking we got everything we deserved. It's starts with the manager then the players.
We maybe don't have works class players but we have a lot of players playing in decent leagues for good teams.
The only thing I'd say is we have very average defenders that should just defend.

I reckon they will give the job to darren fletcher.

Who needs Cups when we have Cones ?.

For about the last 15 minutes of the Algeria v Austria match the Africans passed it about at the back under no pressure because it meant both teams progressed.
But then on 93 minutes Algeria played a forward pass which eventually came to a goal but that meant that Algeria would then play European Champions Spain in the next round and Austria would be eliminated.
Then in the last minute of injury time Austria got a 3-3 equaliser to keep them in the competition and Algeria would then get an easier match against Switzerland.
I don’t think that 3-2 goal was in the script.

Scotland have decent players in the middle of the park but our cbs are poor and up front we have nothing and that proved the issue. 1 goal scored and defensively self destructed.
On watching the games, Scotland were one of the worst teams to watch in the tournament and that was down to how Clarke had them playing. Fear of losing instead of having a go, which is what most of the so called lesser countries have done and are doing.
Ian Wright got it correct, someone somewhere has to take a look at how little money the Scottish game gets from tv and fight for it, because Scotland has been badly let down for many years.
Without better funding, the game in Scotland is going to continue to fall way behind equivalent sized countries.

We were hanging on against Haiti it was a terrible performance.

Our
Complete domestic league set up needs revised, I’ve always shouted about b teams etc being in championship, I don’t know in n out if it but I’m sure we now have rules allowing tie ups with other teams, although not sure how the funding element works (I’d like Celtic to link up properly with a championship type side where the parent club controls lots of aspects of it, but these smaller teams just don’t want that or will have it and without control over who plays etc our players won’t the games they need more than likely, games with opportunity is only way we will allow our players to progress from b team status to fiat team, it’s also only real chance of development, all in all more money in tv deals etc is exactly what’s required, Scotland has a not bad product where more money would increase competitiveness and game experience by drawing in investment like stadia upgrades etc (cos some are dross) all would feed into a better overall league and hopefully better standard of player, then simple things like football our national sport being coached in schools properly ( say maybe scrapping pe letting kids choose a sport to do until 5.30-6 pm after school everyday ) investing properly in grassroots, opening up local authority pitches, the list of what is needed an can be done just goes on and on, while it stays the same the pool of players at a standard is smaller and smaller also with more and more kids turned off sport, look at how girl football seems to be prigresssing because of the focus on it.
But if a ramble I know.
