So many on here saying new players might not suit the next manager but I have the fear that the next manager is already here scouting he’s called Maloney.

That would be like going from Liz truss to rishi sunak. The second is slightly better than the first but not by much.

Maloney and Martinez was the rumour I'd heard, but I have my doubts that they could afford Martinez or he would want to be here? Nevertheless, planning for next season makes me think that they have disregarded this season and although I could believe that, it would be gross misconduct against MON and the supporters.

If we don't win the league this year and Sevco do, there will be carnage.

Mad, mon won’t be here next season, recruitment now could prove difficult for that exact reason, should planning for next season not be no1 priority ( outwith this window) when do u suggest they the planning.
{Ed007's Note - But that's one of the major problems at Celtic Jaa, recruitment shouldn't be dependent on or down to the manager. Do you think Man Utd, Chelsea or Madrid ripped up their transfer plans after recent managerial changes?

Guidi saying it won't be martinez, not sure how he knows that so take with a pinch of salt.

I agree, I’m talking about where Celtic are,
By all means a manager should be the vessel for how a team is coached performs, the club should have a structure, ideals, identity that is continuous, we’re so far off it tho,

I don’t think Martinez is too far feched, his Mrs is Scottish and they have two school age daughters, so he may fancy a more settled life for them. He and Maloney are close so there could be something in it. My only concern would be that he won feck all with Belgium who were ranked 1 in the world at the time.

There's little, if any doubt, that a few current first team players will leave Celtic in the summer, irrespective of how this season pans out.
Top of that list for me will likely be Hatate, Maeda, Trusty, possibly CCV and a few others.
Those making the decisions at Celtic should be looking, where possible to get deals done now for players that not only contribute until May, but getting players in who will be here longer term.
Stuart Armstrong, I'm pretty sure was signed in January alongside his then Dun. United teammate Gary Mackay Steven, so it can be done.
If the powers that be fail yet again in this window, which is highly likely, then it could well have a knock on effect to the summer where a few of the players we could have signed in January end up going elsewhere in the summer e. g. Bowie and Mulligan from Hibs.
This is basic planning, again, regardless of who the manager might be.
It's a shame our board don't plan very well when it comes to the footballing side of the club.

How many years can you go back to hear the same nonsense quotes about planning for the next season/ window. Football is about what you do now. That defines what you need/ do in the next window/ season. And we used to call them the gullibles, jeez oh.

We are miles off being a club run with a modern identity.
The Manager should not be spending all the hours MON is doing looking for players.
His job should be coaching and managing the players, the football clubs recruitment team and DOF identify and along with CEO buy the players.
The managers input is telling that team the type of player he is looking for.
With that structure it doesn't matter if the manager changes, the process is running in the background identifying the best fit and value for money players for the club.

It's better to have something for the new manager to work with than nothing at all. With our form in the transfer window he won't have a ST in until the 31st August or longer for another injury prone freebie.

If we bought a 20 + season goal scorer or a quality CH. What manager isn't wanting them. Buy quality not quantity and the next manager is immaterial.
