Bit of fun, or is it?
Not praising this board by any stretch of the imagination, but is it possible that they are doing a Michael Corleone move from the godfather when he removed Hymen Roth, and the other heads of families in one foul swoop.
Is it self preservation from them, or are they (Dermott) getting their act together eventually.

With BR, Jk, head of scouting gone who is next? Cud it be Nicholson or Lawell for eg and big DD is behind all this. You can call DD a lot of things but stupid ain't one of them. I suppose the AGM might tell us more, we live in hope.

DD pulls the strings although he's never attended the Celtic AGM in nearly 25 years.

I just checked it will be 19 years in 2006 since DD last attended.

As a veteran of the Kelly-White Dynasty I will never, ever have a good word for our Board. If not for complacency and selfish self interest in the last 20 odd years Celtic could have been a REAL big club as the best version of Celtic possible. I will never trust them, especially when a powerful shareholder dictates every decision to his puppet posse.

When the decision was made to sack Rodgers, I can't imagine it was on the spur of the moment, so why wasn't a replacement lined up instead of plunging us into uncertainty and speculation.

Complacency at times yes, self interest mmmmm perhaps need that explained and to say last 20 years arguably most successful 20 years domestically is questionable, some need to get real, Celtic are a big club but wouldn't be any bigger, perhaps a few better runs in Europe, maybe even have done the 10, but Scottish footballs product would have been the same and with that Celtic wouldn't have been any different -I grant u a better strategy on the football side would have made the success nicer an shineyer with maybe some better talent along the way but for certain any talent would have still been lost, I wander what board you may have accepted, a rich prince, a mega rich consortium, a local rich guy, fan ownership (yeah right) I'm baffled at times honestly baffled.

I heard that it's DD, Ross Dermot and the Cat in the Hat that are involved in the manager recruitment.
Maybe DD is starting to take a step back and Ross is taking over which might mean that we might actually see some modern improvements on the football side.

I just want Celtic to be the best version of themselves and that currently is not the case. There is so much that needs changed for us to be the best versions of ourselves.

13 Nov 2025 16:41:23
Agree Joe, we can and must do better!

13 Nov 2025 17:46:17
Jaa; The standard of player has fallen drastically since even MON's first stint and much of the success in the past two decades has to be attributed with the death of Rangers. Which also coincided with a steady demise in European progress as the focus was fully on profit - using the fear factor of EBT United to decrease squad spending and increase the selling for huge profit (not re-invested) of any top players we managed to sign.

There was also the highly dubious 5-way-deal that also had the knock-on of letting them make up ground on Celtic who could and should have been out of sight. Sorry mate let's agree to disagree on the Board and their merits.

13 Nov 2025 20:33:29
Mad, who cares, we struggled to half fill stadium when they weren't there, they never done a great job of making up the ground either and havnt since, I see best version of ourselves point, I just don't see it happening with full on change all way to dd, for me that risks so much when we are consistent and safe, within a horribly fractured world of football, I think somes version is also cukoo land and ideas of grandeur linked to past success.

13 Nov 2025 23:10:04
Maybe the half empty stadiums were more to do with our lack of ambition rather than the lack of deadco?

14 Nov 2025 07:12:48
Answer me this JAA, is it asking too much to have a board who actually sign the players we need to strengthen our team? Is it asking too much to have a board who replace the players they sell? Is it asking too much to have a board who build from a position of strength rather than go backwards? Is it asking too much to have a board who prefer to invest our money in the club rather than give it to the tax man? Is it asking too much to have a board who want us to be the best version of ourselves and have ambition? Is it asking too much to have a board that has a vision for the future and plans ahead instead of reacting slowly? Is it asking too much to have a board that backs their fans and communicates clearly and openly with them, instead of going to war with them and spreading lies about them? Is it asking too much to have a board who wants to make us world class at coaching, data analytics, scouting, recruitment, nutrition, sports science, etc?

You live in another world WeeJoe. Show me any club or buisness that even gives half of what you say.

Brighton.
