I would like to see O'Neil and Maloney kept in position for this season, I think they can get us over the line domestically this season, the team seems relatively settled at the moment.
A new manager coming in at this time with new ideas could mean dropping points which we can't afford.
Ideally would like new manager identified well before start of new season, even if it means getting him in before the end of season so he can assess what he's got and needs for the way he wants to play.

I doubt our board would sanction paying an incoming manager before he takes full control. Or would an incoming manager agree to this role for a few months before he takes over?

Agreed Stevie, can't take a risk on the new man needing time to bed in his ideas get to know players. This season is is in a state of flux as it is.

Keep MON and Co. in place until season end and keep us in contention. That allows the new manager to have a full close season with a clean slate and we go from there.

I agree it's a gamble bringing in any Manager at the minute with all the turmoil of the park and these next 3 away fixtures.

My preferred option would be for MON to take the team until the Cup Final on December 14th.
I would then bring in Knutsen who will have played his last game under his current contract.
Maybe Bodo Glimt can't Qualify from the CL Group by then anyway.
Although I don't see us getting Knutsen because that would be too good to be true.

I can see us getting Nancy quite soon and it will be a baptism of firm for him.
It will be a huge gamble but it's a gamble I can see the Celtic Board taking because it's more convenient and the easier option.

McKenna is too expensive for the Celtic Board.
Right now I would say W. Nancy is a certainty.

There's no easy time for a Manager when he's brought in during the season and I'm the Celtic fans will get behind the new appointment whoever it is.

I'd love to see O'Neil get it permanently, if he wants it of course!

Can anyone explain why Nancy is favourite- he doesn't appear to have much experience so what is the attraction?

MON and SM would definitely be my preference at this time, during a very difficult season but MON regularly emphasizes the job is temporary. Changing to any other manager could be disruptive and risky and that is why I would prefer a well-respected and well known candidate that the players will respond to immediately - if the Board make the change.

However, it's not up to me and I worry we could be heading for a very uncertain period with a risk of disappointment.

Nancy has won a few honours in the USA.
He was also the MLS Manager of the year in 2024.

Totally agree Buzz. That would be my ideal scenario too. Would be great if we can get MoN lifting another trophy and he leaves on a high. He's 73 can't put him through the stresses all season. Been hoping Knutsen more tham anyone since BR resigned.

He will have a few weeks to assess the squad and have an idea what we need and may have a few players he would want to sign from Norway. Bodo striker Hogh would be a good signing, good numbers this season but may be out of our budget.

Nancy is bookies fav only because he's available right now. His season is over so easier option.
