I'm a fan of brendan and I have a theory, as I have said I don't think brendan tells players to play boring side to side football, yes keep possession. And maybe buzz or anyone can have stats to go against or back my theory up. But a good manager with new ideas can lift a team, but will have a starting 11. But after maybe 2 seasons these players feel safe in their position and play safe, but when a new manager comes in, they know not guaranteed starters. A loved ange but even his football became stale, is the cycle of a manager 2 seasons? What's everyone's opinion? Am I just talking rubbish?

That's a good point cfcjohnny, tho I think after the two year cycle we need to refresh the players so the manager can start from scratch again. Players in the squad get re-energised at working with different/ maybe better players. A good number if the current squad have said how good Rodgers is with them.

It is strange how 2024 was a terrific year for Brendan compared to 2025.
Granted he’s lost a few players but the difference has been huge.

Buzz, like any person, when someone or in his case, some people let you down, no longer give you the support you need, then it is difficult to perform to the same level, have the same drive and determination.

That lack of support will always be in his mind and will effect him, no matter how hard he tries to ignore or deflect it.

Also with the ego he has, and we all know he has one or he wouldn't be successful, there will be an element of, if you don't do your job to the high standard expected then why should I.

When you continuously sell your best players and replace them with inferior players that's what you get unfortunately, and again he's talking about the timing of players coming in, that's on the board waiting till the last seconds of a window and scrambling about, hopefully they've learned rhein lesson and if the story snout young Clark is true then that's a start to build some bridges.

In many of his 'pressers' and post-match interviews he strongly advocates quicker, slicker play and high tempo; so there must be either a lack of confidence or ability to carry out this instruction. Many a game we see a very lackluster first half with the slow deliberate, safe possession followed by a high energy reaction at the start of the second period. Familiarity and complacency may be a factor and I also think McGregor's insistence or reliance to be involved from deep all the time does not help the pace of attacks. Although Brendan Rodgers has a formidable record at Celtic, it is probably best that this is his last season and that can be said for several of the current first team as well btw.

Brendan in his 2 spells has had issues with performance levels which does happen and he’s previously always found answers.

Change the backroom staff and that will give a refresh.

On the two year point, I think when you are basically playing without competition most weeks and playing the same teams up to 10 times during that two years then staleness sets in much more than playing competitive matches every week and playing against different teams with varying styles and formations.

For Celtic I would say three years regardless who it is is long enough to hungry and ambitious and that includes most players.

Whilst he's working with one hand tied behind is back, this happens everywhere he goes. Great initial impact but then the message becomes repetitive and it goes a bit flat. I remember seeing Kasper Schmeichael talk about it before the two reunited with us.
