The Celtic board have asked to meet the fan collective ( which they have accepted ) on Monday, 6th Oct and as a result the silence protest has been called off.

Agree2 Disagree0

Got to start somewhere.

Read that. Whether or not you agree with the protests I think it is a mistake to engage with the Board at this particular point. It gives them the advantage. I mean neither Nicholson nor McKay are likely to offer to resign. Nothing has changed imo since the last offer of a meeting, perhaps except the Board have become more arrogant, dismissive and entrenched.

Foxi your reply stinks of fan entitlement, surely engagement is way forward, in fact let’s hear it, how should this pan out? All ears.

The anonymous statement from the board told us what we need to know. They think they are doing a great job and will continue doing the exact same moving forward.

They are so arrogant and out of touch from reality that I see no benefit in meeting with them either.

I've said it before, nothing will change with board while Celtic continue to sell 53,000 season tickets.

I just see it as an attempt to take the moral high ground and expect no admissions, concessions pr apologies. The serious damage to our progress and improvement has been done and blamed on a big boy that did it and ran away.

All disputes end via talking…. Even when side crushes the other they have to talk. A look at history confirms.

It’s best to talk now before irreparable damage is done to this season. As a team we are not in a good state and we need all the help we can get to win the league…. That should be the priority.

We can’t change the past but we can shape the future.

The protests are hurting the team.

Let’s agree a way to change the club without damaging the team.

I believe the board will be reshaped in the coming months and major structural change on the football operations.

I am happy with talking and no 90 minute protest.

We complained about lack of communication with fans so we’ve shifted the dial on that. The protests aren’t over by any means. This meeting will tell us if they are willing to change in any meaningful way or if the protests get taken up a level. The outcome of this meeting can’t benefit the board in any way. The collective have already stated ‘ business as usual is not an option’.

Talking is the best way for 2 opposing parties to begin to compromise and make headway. Humility needed and a willingness to see things from the other sides pint of view. We don't want the status quo of dogmatism.

People cannot seriously complain about the board offering talks, when for weeks people on here have ranted about the lack of communication from the board.

Once the decision on how and with whom the talks take place and after they have happened, we can dissect what has been said and then comment.

To dismiss any offer of talks, completely sounds like entitlement imo.

Some people seriously need to remember what they have previously said and understand nothing gets addressed unless there is communication.

Hatred of the board cannot be what underpins any discussion with them or we will get nowhere.

All entitled to your opinion. I know a wee bit about negotiation and imo by saying we won't meet until you answer the points in our letter/ statement and then meeting without that being done? Tell me who has the upper hand then? It's not the fans. And I don't do entitlement but do think we have to stand up for ourselves or things will never change. Hope you're all ears now.
