A piece of Good News

The bhoy Iheanacho pictured training in Manchester with a personal trainer
which shows a good attitude before he meets up with rest of players after International break.

He should be in good shape Tim surely he's done pre season.

Very bad news,

I would rather he was training with Celtic then it gives Brendan a dozen days to assess him.
There’s no chance he will be available for Rugby Park now if he’s doing what he wants in Manchester.
It doesn’t make sense other than he isn’t fit enough to even train with his new teammates.

{Ed007's Note - Isn't Rodgers in Spain? I think players that aren't on international duty get a few days off as well.}

Don't know buzz . it shows he's taking it seriously as a good season could earn him a decent contract with us or a move back to engerland.

Yes ED007 ALL players do not meet up till Wednesday
Buzz I look on it as a positive that bhoy is training before meeting rest of players.

{Ed007's Note - ??

So if you’re not on International duty you get 10 days off, surely that can’t be right.
No wonder KT withdrew from the Scotland squad then.

I’m not looking forward to Celtic playing again.
This is the calm before the storm and that’s saying something.

Does anyone think that Kilmarnock will start training again on Wednesday for the visit of Celtic on Sunday?
They will be fully focused on our fixture for a fortnight leading up to the game.

Buzz two points
This has always been the case at International breaks, players not playing get a few days off
Also these players on a break all get a fitness routine to follow from coaching staff, almost same as pre season, players are trusted to keep themselves fir.

Brendan and the Bhoys really do need. a rest . Brendan after all his shouting his head off and the bhoys running around like childless chickens. Nice to see Iheanacho putting in a bit of training but why Manchester and why not Glasgow, he would need to get use to the climate the Glasgow accent and the west of Scotland bigotry.

I’m not sure Tim,

Why should players get more time off than the players on International duty.
I always thought the players left behind got on with business as usual.
Not get rewarded with extra days off for not being good enough to get picked for their respective Countries.

{Ed001's Note - it is down to the club to decide, usually they carry on training as normal and bring in youth players to make up the numbers. Sometimes, if it has been a gruelling season, they might get a day or two off. It is very rare that they get the full time off though.}

Andy walker said he saw him a few times last season at Middlesbrough abd he looked unfit.

{Ed007's Note - I seriously doubt that, any professional footballer who is part of a first team squad does the same training as players starting every game, Iheanacho might not but have been match-fit but I think his supposed lack of fitness has been greatly exaggerated by a lot of people, especially Celtic fans.}

Ed
I’m 100% for giving our players time off when it’s needed but not a few games into the season with new signings.

This reminds me of the behind closed doors season when our players came back from lockdown well off the pace.

I believe that was down to Lennon and his team being complacent or Gerrard had his team being on the ball or probably a mixture of both.

I think Celtic could be in trouble here which will intensify if Sevco bring in a good manager.

{Ed007's Note - What good would it do new signings when half the squad are away on international duty, there's no point doing any tactical work so it's mostly physical. It's been happening for years, I don't see why suddenly this is a problem, and while our Elite level manager is sitting in his Spanish mansion licking his wounds.}

06 Sep 2025 21:33:26
Rodgers not on spain.

06 Sep 2025 21:39:59
That’s my point Ed,
Why is he in Spain licking his wounds?

I do believe it would be good for our new signings to be training this week with the majority of our first team squad.
Especially when the vast majority of our strikers and wingers are available.

Thanks for the reply Ed.001
How are you keeping and do you still live in Dubai?

{Ed001's Note - good thanks mate and yes still in Dubai. Though I did end up having a couple of years in the Philippines, the time zone was no good for the footie so had to move back! How are things with you?}
