For me Bernardo and Engles in the same team doesn't do it for me. Neither create much and aren't the quickest of players and don't move the ball quick enough either.

Tell me the last time you watched CalMac put in a shift or even a performance like Bernardo did today? I even thought Engles was more involved in the play without McGregor on the pitch today.}

He is never going to vary from his beloved 4-3-3 even although with the limited options we have a stronger midfield would probably accommodate our better players.

Well I thought they looked very good together today, if you dropped McCowan ( who is an aberdeen player at best) and stuck Hatate in, the pace of our team moving forward would go through the roof. 3 players who's first thought is to move the ball forward.
Rogician it definitely won't be but it bloody should be.

Ed when mcgregor came oan he ended up oan edge of our box, Bernardo was hardly anywhere near there, pushed our whole midfield up.

I've been saying for months that Bernardo should be starting, it's mind boggling to me the Bernardo was Brendan's first choice in European games when he first came in and played in nearly every game during the season but according to Rodgers in a recent interview he is now 6th choice.
The boy should demand a move if he isn't going to play that often.
Everyone goes on about Rodgers being an elite manager but he seems incapable of playing players in there natural position.

I think he will play McGregor . I think u are right about Bernardo but BR will go with Cal as he uses his leadership and keeps the team on their toes . On this occasion I think BR is right but he needs to get Bernardo playing that position fairly regularly.

It's a strange one Ed as Calmac seems more suited further forward than both and vice versa but we play Cal deeper. Both have a bit more dig about them and I find at Euro level the skip gets found out. Make it make sense ?.

Celtic don't play with a CDM. We play a deep lying play maker (a regista) .
I did not see the game yesterday, so unsure what role Bernardo played but if he was further up the park, would suggest Bernardo played a different role from Callum but need to watch the game to be sure.
The reason I say that is the DLP is often between or close to the centre backs and only moves forward when in an attacking phase and the team are further forward.

I've said for years, since broony left calmac is wasted playing in that role, it's not his fault. actually would be far more effective and was far more effective further forward before they tried moulding him into being scott brown. bernardo is a class player, I genuinely think engles will also improve. the lad Dane Murray looks a quality prospect and with progression I'd have no qualms him getting regular game time domestically. another year or 2 around the first team squad with playing experience going as he is he could very well be a starting CB for us no problem. the 1 mistake the lad made yesterday he bounced straight back getting a fantastic block in.
