There could well come the time when the views that some fans have of the Board become public, plus our Manager publicly adding to the ill will shown that our Board could snap .

The Board members would all consider themselves leaders of Trade and Industry not only in Scotland but also in UK . They are more use to praise and adulation as they are chauffeured around various factories and offices, Chairing meetings and partaking in Liquid lunches . Normally their welcome are far removed from the ridicule and abuse they receive from Celtic fans who don't show any appreciation no matter what success Celtic have achieved in the season just past and previous seasons.

Board members may think that the Celtic fans are ungrateful, as Celtic have never achieved the success they have had this century in any previous 25 yrs . Those Board members who have invested heavily in Celtic shares may be fed up and collectively decide to sell their shares to whoever will give them the most .
Within a relatively short period of time enough shares to make a difference could be bought and suddenly Celtic Board could become even less likely to invest in team and SPL wins would become less frequent.

Of course I don't want this to happen, but rightly or wrongly our Board members are very likely to have high self esteem and may feel they haven't been respected by fans .
The Board we know might be better than the Board we don't.

The current board couldn't care less what ignorant fans think and feel. Why would they? They know fine well the sound position we are in on and off the park! It's not even up for debate as it's a FACT!

02 Aug 2025 19:09:16
If you think we're in a sound position on the park you are deluded, the cracks were showing last few months of last season and there has been nothing done to repair those cracks infact I would say those cracks are bigger at the start of this season.

02 Aug 2025 19:26:32
Could be worse. You could be a sevco supporter ????.

02 Aug 2025 19:30:28
We haven't played a game in anger yet we are all doom and gloom.

Once the season starts in ernest then we can have opinions on how we are playing and developing.

I still feel we will take in 2 or 3 players but this is the second full season for a number of our current squad and I believe that they will be even better this season and will have learned a lot from last season.

Sometimes continuity works as opposed to changing your whole team every season.

02 Aug 2025 20:15:48
No they won't as its much of a good thing. It's business for these types. If you think they are emotionally involved I would disagree. It's just business by your explanation. I think they a pretty thick skinned to achieve this!

{Ed007's Note - It's ludicrous to suggest that the Celtic board(majority shareholders & people with influence) aren't emotionally tied to the Club, from Desmond to Lawwell & Chris Trainer and the list goes on... nepotism is part of the problem.
If it's a business to DD way has he put millions of £s into the club more than he has ever taken out?
Have Celtic outgrown the board's level of competence? Are we as a club at a tipping point where if we keep doing what we're doing it gets stale but we don't have the personal in place to take THAT leap/gamble to the next level, are the board scared in case they "blow " our millions?}

02 Aug 2025 20:17:48
I agree a couple of tweaks and the solid base of players improving. I think sometimes we always see new as better. Existing players we take for granted can also improve.

Oh Wee Dessie,

I suspect you're on the wrong forum little one ?

Just for fun, to take one of your points, you posted 'Those board members have invested heavily in Celtic shares', really?

The Celtic family globally, have historically and continue to this day, to invest considerably to Celtic Football Club, whether that be; shares, season tickets, merchandise, hospitality, and the list goes on and on, and it's worth noting, we'll continue to do so as we don't do 'walking away' ?

In terms of the board, DD has a majority interest of almost 35% shareholding in Celtic Football Club, after him, the next two largest shareholders have 18% and 11%, respectfully.

If, hypothetically, all three parties were bought out, then a board reshuffle/ replacement would ultimately follow - but that's for another day.

Unlike TRIFC, aka SEVCO, aka the H*NS, aka 'pay the face painter', aka 'your clubs deid, get oor it' LG - Celtic Football Club's supporters would never let their club go bankrupt, spiral into liquidation and die the most public, humiliating
death.

No, we fight for our club, not only today but every day, just as those who came before us have had to fight every single day in Scotland.

Scotland, the land of the Protesters.

More than a club - HH

Stevie our season hasn't yet?.

02 Aug 2025 20:38:50
Wee Dessie, that’s an extraordinary post regarding the board.
A lot of fans share the view the Board simply don’t care enough about them. Let’s be honest, they ignore that fans buy the season tickets, the European briefs, the expensive strips and merchandise, and own shares.
They demand other clubs pay top dollar but won’t EVER agree to pay it themselves, even though that’s what fans occasionally want. They’ve made good sales down the years but wasted as much on cheap, short sighted signings. The women’s team is in disarray, Barrowfield is months behind.
Meanwhile, 80-100M is just doing nothing in a bank. From a business perspective that’s nuts, and totally inefficient. The fans don’t expect miracles, just some ambition.
It’s only by being held to account, these things will change. Otherwise it’s just preparing for failure.

02 Aug 2025 20:55:07
SavCelt to say the board don't care about the fans is wide of the mark, the board won't let fans dictate how the club is run. Fans think with their heart and not their head and that isn't good when it comes to making decisions based in the best interests of Celtic FC e. g how much money is spent on transfers. All clubs want top dollar for their players and want to pay as less as possible for any signings. I won't address your post any further?.

02 Aug 2025 21:25:13
Stevie do you have any interest in sport, because if you have I am very surprised that you aren’t aware when the results of games become virtually meaningless the team’s performance drop quite a lot .

There is no problem with getting our fans to fight, there is certainly plenty of fight in our fans, against our Board . Instead of fighting SFA and SPL, the refs and VAR officials, , the SMSM, and Scottish Police and the new Club, all who genuinely try to get H. ns to finish above us .

To read many. posts one could easily think we are in the 1990’s losing the SPL nearly every season.

03 Aug 2025 00:30:38
??Wee Dessie you obviously think the SC Final was "meaningless" at the end of last season? Winning the SPL every season doesn't mean we've reached our peak, let's face it, the competition has been virtually non existent for last 13 years. We are a huge Club where CL qualification should be a formality with our resources. see what this season brings, yes we'll probably win the league again but improvement from last 13 years in Europe?
doubtful# static.

03 Aug 2025 10:13:24
Bhoy88, no one is asking for the fans to ‘dictate how the club is run’.
With respect, your fellow fans are more intelligent and discerning than you and Wee Dessie give them credit for.
Can you or anyone else explain why we have nearly £100M in the bank? To quote Peter Lawwell 2-3 years ago, that’s inherently inefficient and not in the best interests of the business. Meanwhile, prices go up, investment across the business slows.100M is not far off the value of the squad?
Can you name the last occasion the Club did something ambitious?
I share Stevie27 sentiment. To pinch another line I heard, we don’t go into Europe to compete, we just participate.
Ps. it’s ok to question the board and their ambition.

03 Aug 2025 10:20:00
When winning the league is virtually 1/ 60th of our wage bill then its not as easy to spend unless certain assurances are there (CL money) .
However I think its just as big a gamble not having the recruitment in before the necessary qualifier, so if we have a budget, utilise it on positions we need, at the value we can afford, and continue, if we qualify potentially a last minute marquee signing, but still there's players out there for buttons, just scouting the right places and getting the deals done.
Belgium clubs have a good recruitment process and make plenty on sales, we can do the same.

03 Aug 2025 10:50:37
Well that's easy to explain Savcelt, it's because we have the best people in place that run us properly and have us in the sound position financially and on the park! Would you say it was showing ambition when we smashed our transfer record on Engels last summer?

02 Aug 2025 21:55:22
Sorry Ed to a point I agree but when it's business emotions are put aside in the main.

03 Aug 2025 12:55:20
Good post Turner?.

03 Aug 2025 13:35:00
We have people who have been on the board far too long. No big organisation does this. Too many old pals act appointment's. Lawell a prime example but he's not alone. They all might have an emotional attachment, thars not a qualification or my 8 year old grandson would be in contention.

We need to remove the stale, oh aren't we doing well, you should see my share bonus attitude.

Our club after The Bunnet, who wanted a fans share and influence, has been highjack by Tories who have carved it up with shareholders like myself with zero influence to remove people.

The main supply of deadwood at the club is in our boardroom. Fresh blood, new ideas, a pair of balls with a pledge to improve us every year.

"We will use every penny to improve the team. "

Anybody remember that p ish? We aren't even asking for "every penny", we would be ok with just what we brought in. That leaves £27m to spend and nobody even has to try to remember where they buried the tin.

I am still hopeful we will bring in quality. But, i am still on medication, so take that as you will.

03 Aug 2025 13:55:42
Pedro seems to minimise the share holdings by some Board members, surely he should do the decent thing buy a block of shares get himself on Board and push through the changes he feels has to be done .
Wasting your time posting, here u know what you should do.
